Biography
I was a Russian spy at the ripe age of thirteen, given my uncanny ability to tell if someone was lying ( I also read fortunes on the weekends). By sixteen I had become too much of a handful for the Lethal Intelligence Ensemble (L.I.E.). I was quickly exiled to the south of France where I worked with wayward elephants in the Circus of Roaming Animals and People (C.R.A.P.). I was able to make ends …meet by selling my organs on the black market for pocket change and beer money. At the age of twenty three I decided to expand my horizons and become a blackjack dealer in Ireland. I loved the family atmosphere at Barney’s Underground Liquor Lounge (B.U.L.L.). People couldn’t resist the allure of Liquor up front and poker in the rear. Eventually I became tired of the rear and headed off to the United States to try my hand at tall tales. That is what brings us here today. If you have a moment I’d like to tell you a story.

Ryder reigned supreme as a luscious hero, his past consumed his thoughts and held him back from moving forward to a promising future full of talent and a heart full of love forever searching for someone to give it to.
5 carnal lips – hot and spicy scenes
Holy smoking stars above this Author creates sexy scenes that leave your lips chapped and your bum wiggling around seeking for some sorta relief! The chemistry between this book hero and heroine is nearly instantaneous and absolutely believable as they both try to hold back secrets, their bodies both betray them in the end.

Excerpt 1
Nora covered her mouth as she yawned. Her eyes focused on the road as she reached down, lifting her coke to her lips. Nora took a long swig before returning it to the cup holder.
The blue-green illumination of the dashboard clock read 12:03 AM. It was late, and she’d been driving for hours, but she would not stop until she reached her destination.
With a trembling hand, she picked up her cell phone and listened to her best friend’s voicemails again. She’d been stuck at work when April had called earlier, and had only just gotten the frantic message when she’d gotten off.
3:56pm
Hey, Nora, it’s April. I just wanted to let you know that I made it home okay. I know this is going to sound weird, but I need you to stay away from the apartment for a few days. I will wire you some money for a hotel. It’d be even better if you found one far away from home. I promise I will try to explain everything soon, but I can’t right now. Just please trust me when I tell you not to go home. I hope you get this soon. Call me when you do. I’ll, uh; I’ll talk to you later, okay? Be safe.
4:15 pm
Hey, it’s me again. Um, listen, my families in trouble, Nora. I think you could be too. I’m going to text you my address. I need you to head down here as soon as you can. Please call me as soon as possible.
The phone clicked, and Nora smashed her finger over the buttons, setting the phone back on top of her purse. Her hands shook as she gripped the steering wheel. Her eyes stared out the window into the pitch-black night. She’d received that ominous message around five hours ago, shortly after she’d left work. She still hadn’t been able to reach her best friend. Every call went straight to voicemail. Terrified, she’d hopped in her car and started the long drive to Louisiana.
Stifling another yawn, Nora glanced over at her GPS. If it were correct, she should reach April’s home within the next fifteen minutes. Once there, she could check on her friend, and find out what the hell was going on.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a blur of yellow making a beeline for the street. She slammed on the breaks, causing the tires to squeal. A man dashed into the road, and she screamed as a loud crunch echoed through the car.
The man’s body rolled up onto her hood, colliding with the windshield. The glass cracked, and tiny spider webs erupted across the window. His body tumbled backwards.
Nora held the steering wheel as a vice, watching in horror as he hit the pavement with an unforgiving thump. He rolled and attempted to stand, but quickly fell back to the black top. She held her breath, waiting for him to get up, but he didn’t. Her heart dropped and she took a shaky breath in.
Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god!
Pulse thrumming in her ears, she pushed her door open, unbuckled her seatbelt, and climbed out. Her eyes stayed transfixed on the deathly still person. Nausea churned in her stomach, and she gagged seeing the awkward angle of his arm. Her knees wobbled as she forced her feet forward.
“Please be okay. Please don’t be dead,” she mumbled as she approached him.
Blood oozed into his brown hair, streaking the cocoa strands with red. His chest rose and fell in shallow, uneven breaths. The man coughed, groaning as he rolled. He placed a quivering hand on the road as he attempted to sit up again.
“Thank god you’re not dead! Are you okay? I’m not sure you should be moving,” Nora babbled as she held her hands out, unsure if she should touch him or not.
He twisted, his emerald-green eyes connecting with hers. Red dribbled out of his nose, pooling on his lips. His intense gaze gave her pause and she felt her breath catch as she got lost in his beautiful irises.
“Who are you?” he coughed, struggling to his feet.
Nora blinked, snapping out of her trance. “I’m so sorry. Are you okay? I need to call the police. You need to get to the hospital,” she rambled. Heat crept over her cheeks at her own stupidity. She’d hit a man! He needed medical help. How was he even standing? Why hadn’t she brought her phone out of the car with her?
“No!” he yelled, clamping his good hand around her wrist.
Nora jumped at his outburst. Her eyes widened, and pulse kicked up a notch.
“No,” he said quieter. “I…I don’t have insurance. Please, just help me get out of here. Give me a ride to a motel or something.” He stared at her for a long moment. “What’s your name?”
Nora looked down at his fingers that still encircled her wrist. Tiny nicks marred his skin. As she continued to assess him, she saw a large gash along his cheekbone, and blood covered his yellow shirt and dark wash jeans. His left shoulder and arm were mangled, but she couldn’t tell if it was broken or dislocated.
Realizing he was still waiting for an answer to his question, she said, “Nora, Nora Jamison.”
“I’m Daniel McKinley. I think we should get out of here, Nora.” His eyes scanned the tree line to her right and she followed his gaze.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” she asked. “I can call an ambulance—”
“No. Come on,” he interrupted, hobbling forward and pulling her along with him. His fingers were warm on her wrist and a tiny tremor of heat crept through her.
Nora allowed him to lead her as he stumbled to the passenger door and jerked it open. Yelling erupted from the trees, sending cold chills down her spine. Swallowing, she surveyed the brush. Her breath caught in her throat as three men emerged from the tree line, followed by a large grey wolf. How is that even possible, she wondered, eyes transfixed on the large creature.
Nora flinched as the wolf howled and the three men bounded toward them. She took a few steps back, her feet faltering as her butt met her car. Pushing off the steel, she whirled around and sprinted to the driver’s side door. A loud crackle rippled through the air, followed by a groan. Daniel slumped to the ground as his body contorted.
Horrified, Nora watched through the open passenger door as his yellow shirt tore free from his body. Reddish-brown hair erupted onto his back. He positioned himself on his hands and knees, seconds before his back jolted upwards. Another snap sounded, followed by a howl as he sprung forward.
Nora clamped a hand over her mouth as she watched the man become a wolf. She closed her eyes, and opened them again, still not believing. Yet, the wolf remained where the man had been. He lunged at the other wolf catching him mid-air, and driving him to the ground.

My name is Aria Valencia, a third year classical music student at the university, and I was down to my last dollar. Some nights, I seriously considered working at the rippers just to make ends meet, but the thought of my dad’s spirit–God rest his soul–scowling at me while I danced up on some drooling degenerate was enough to turn me off the idea completely. And then one night, chance came knocking on my door under the guise of the Midnight Society, a secret cabal comprised of the most wealthy and influential souls this side of the Universe. Their leader was a man named Shadow, who was equally enigmatic as he was gorgeous and, for some mystifying reason, had his dark brooding eyes focused on me. Seduced by the promises of fame and fortune in exchange for a seemingly innocent request, I soon found myself drawn into a provocative world filled with both vast riches and unending lies and it didn’t take long for me to realize what being a part of the Midnight Society actually entailed: shiny things, sensual romance, and dead bodies. Being with Shadow came with a terrible price, one that I wasn’t willing to pay. There’s a dark side to every love story, and this one was mine.

Carly Jo Simon believed that Colton Weston was her future, but he shattered her heart into tiny pieces. Just like any little girl would, she assumed her daddy would always be by her side. Unbelievably, he turned his back on her when she needed him most, leaving her with no one in her life to turn to for support.

Seven years later, Carly reluctantly returns to Kentucky. Her daddy is dying of cancer and Colton is nothing like the boy she once loved and left. After her daddy passes, Carly must uproot her life in South Carolina and take control of Simon Coal Company, where she has no choice but face the pain of her past. Can Carly keep her secrets buried deep beneath the black Kentucky coal and her heart safe from the fiery Colton Weston?
Silla Webb is a Kentucky native, raised in the heart of the coal fields. A coal truck driver’s daughter, and a railroader’s wife, the coal fields own a special place in her heart.
She is a work at home, Super Momma to three rowdy boys, who keep her on her feet from daylight to sunset. As a pass time from her everyday life, Silla started a blog-Momma’s Secret Book Obsession, for reviewing romance novels. From there, she realized that not only did she have a natural love for reading and reviewing, but she found that lost love of writing that she once had as a young girl.
When she isn’t conquering the world as a wife, momma and Super Woman, Silla loves to lay on the front porch swing and read while sipping sweet tea, just passin’ the day away.
This reviewer gives the author a thumbs up for coming right out letting the reader know that the ending will be a cliff hanger. The story itself is incredible! I would have rated it a 4.0 if not for some of the grammar. For example, Rocky Road ice cream was spelled, Rocky Rode several times. Though I did enjoy that Webb wrote using Kentucky dialect, dropping the g on words like, mornin’, and ya for you. It really places the reader directly in the novel, in Kentucky, right in the middle of the action. This reviewer also is happy to see a new romance theme from all the rock stars, billionaires, and MC romance reads. The descriptions in the scenes show realism in how a coal mine runs, and how dangerous, dirty, and physical the job is. In reading, I began to wonder what a ‘Pinner’ was? So I even took time from reading the novel to do a little research.
Here is an article from a coal mining blog that provides a good understanding of what the Pinner’s job is underground in the mine. There are pictures on the Mantrip, and a couple of miners pinning and bolting . Showing just how physical, dangerous, and what space they have to move and work in.
From the first of the book to middle ways in the novel this reviewer had to have the tissue handy. The heroine, Carly Jo just does not have the best luck in life. At least at the part where we meet her, not long after high school graduation. Until then life had its ups and downs, but were more manageable. But readers you will see that Carly Jo is a strong independent woman who can look after herself, even if her temper sometimes gets the better of her. With that same temper leading her decisions, whether for good or bad…
4.0 Romance Rave
The characters have a lot of innuendo between and about one another, especially between Colton and Carly Jo.
Both Luke and Colton are Hot Hunks!!! It would be hard to choose between them…
Colton is very ALPHA, DOMINANT, and CONTROLLING!
The HEAT between Colton an Carly Jo will steam up your Kindle…
Looking Forward to the Rest of the Story…
P.S. Maybe Book 2 will include the Village Diner’s Peanut Butter Fudge Cheesecake… Sounds Yummy!!!
Title: A Perfect Mistake (A Perfect Secret Series, #2)
Author: Zoe Dawson
Release date: December 22, 2013
Publisher: Blue Moon Creative, LLC
Age Group: New Adult
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Mystery
Synopsis
How can they have a future when their past is based on a lie?
The perfect preacher’s daughter, Verity Fairchild, has something that only she and God know about and she wants to keep it that way. Her mistake was easy to keep secret when she was out of town, but now that she’s come back to Hope Parish for the summer, she comes face-to-face with the guy responsible for it all. Boone Outlaw nearly ruined everything for her and despite the fact that he’s now working at her father’s church, she’s determined to stay as far away from him as possible.
Boone Outlaw doesn’t understand Verity’s anger towards him. He barely knows her. In high school she was Holy Mary Verity and she was off limits – except in his dreams where Verity seems way too real. Most of the time he was wasted in high school, not the type of boy Verity would ever look at twice, but he can’t shake the feeling that something might have happened between them. He’s going to break his own rules to get the answers he needs straight from Verity.
What will Verity do when she finds something in Boone
that she never knew existed and her perfect mistake is the only thing that could stand between them and their happiness? Will she sacrifice Boone to keep her secret?
Zoe Dawson is the alter ego of Karen Anders, award winning, multi-published author. Her writing journey started with poetry and branched out into fiction. With a couple of college English courses under her belt, she penned a historical, then moved onto contemporary romance fiction. Today, she is happy producing romantic suspense, romantic mystery, urban fantasy and paranormal novels. The words feed her soul and the happily ever afters feed her heart.
A Perfect Mistake is the second book in Dawson’s, A Perfect Secret Series. The two books could be read as stand-alone’s, but book 2 may give away a spoiler or two about book 1. Also, certain sayings may pass you by unless you have read book 1, A Perfect Messand have an idea behind the reference. One good example would be the mention of, Braxton’s pink frilly apron in book 2. There is a great scene in book 1 where he is wearing said apron. But, that is all I am going to say about that, you will just have to read it to catch my meaning…
A Perfect Mistake, is set in a Louisiana Bayou town. This novel focuses on Verity Fairchild and Boone Outlaw. A Perfect Mess introduces the reader to the three recently graduated ladies and the Outlaw triplet brothers featured in the series. Verity is the Preacher’s daughter, Boone is one of the Outlaw triplets that has been judged by the town due to his name and a relative of generations past.
So far after reading both novels, I see several similarities. Both novels involve a specific secret(s) between an Outlaw brother and one of the three school chum gals. Social class and standing are issues, The females in the novels seem to be serious, smart, and wanting to change their lives moving beyond Suttontowne, to bigger and brighter futures. While the Outlaw brothers are happy living where they are. Have established lives of their own in the town. In each novel there are car issues, misunderstandings, feelings for someone they feel they shouldn’t, and calling someone they care about, Sugar.
I love the dialect in the novels. I am a southern gal, and love their southern voice creating the scene and telling the story. Instead of sure, they say shore; Geezus for Jesus; and I have no idea where Huckleberry came from, but it is a hoot when they call each other by this name.
The stories in the novels take place over the course of one summer. A Perfect Mess begins the series in May, with, A Perfect Mistake taking place in June that same summer. There has been mentions of the towns Founding Day event. So I believe that that dear reader is where book 3 will be leading us. To the end of summer and Founder’s Day.
In book 1, A Perfect Mess, readers are introduced to Verity as she is sitting at Braxton Outlaw’s restaurant. It is mentioned several time that she scowls, giving Boone the stink eye all the time. This creates interest and curiosity. Surely did in my case. Made me wonder just why Verity was so sassy when it came to the sight or mention of Boone Outlaw.
A Perfect Mess introduces readers to Aubree Walker. It is in the middle of the night and she is having a recurring dream/nightmare. Her phone rings and she is told of a family emergency. Next thing is she is in her way home, 2 hours away from her college. When she reaches home a terrible storms is taking place. And this is where Booker Outlaw is brought into the story.
Readers soon learn that Booker, along with his triplet brothers, Boone and Braxton have a bad reputation in their town. Aubree is a college student living two hours away from what was her home since the fourth grade. A terrible secret connects Aubree and Boone together. This secret is the reason she does not want to return home, ever. However, fate had other plans for Aubree and sends her right in the thick of where she did not want to be. Yet, while in her hometown, she will learn that hers is not the only secret to be revealed. But, dear reader, you will just have to read for yourself to see what these secrets are all about.
This was the first novel I have ever read by Author Zoe Dawson. I have to admit it was a nice change from my more adult reads. While reading I even had a craving for Cajun food. I still might venture out to a place close by so I can experience, Boudin sausage. But I am sure it will not be as good as Braxton’s recipe.
Songs from the Novel
A Perfect Mess, Ratings
4.0 Rosebuds of Writing Rave
Plot is well laid out and characters are rounded and described to a perfect T. Grammar and flow of the story, and the scenes creating story fall into a flow that have you wanting to know what is around the next page. While it also creates interest and intrigue into what the stories of the rest of the characters could be.
1.0 Tear-Drop Rave
It was only towards the end when the secrets were being revealed, that my emotions got the best of me and my heart went out to Aubree and Booker. Plus, I have to admit, the one secret revealed was very surprising to me. It was a good surprise, but it was still nothing I was expecting. A real twist in the story.
3.5 Romance Rave
From the moment in the novel when Aubree and Booker see each other for the first time in nine months readers feel a spark between these characters. Throughout the novel, this spark only grows brighter. The romance is not explicit, but is meaningful and emotional in how it is described and undertaken.
Would I recommend this novel? YES!! I love the Southerness of it, the sass of the heroine and the emotion filled ending. Plus, I just like the name Aubree for a girl. My husbands grandfather was an Aubrey, and if we ever had a girl I wanted to name her that. He did not share the feeling. So I am glad to see a female Aubree as the heroine of this novel. You go Girl!!!
I have not finished reading, A Perfect Mistake yet. Verity is a very entertaining character. I love her sass, quick thinking and her feisty attitude toward Boone. Part of the secret Verity holds inside of her is shared with Boone early in the story. However, all is not revealed. Boone has been having a recurring dream for the past months since graduation night, and he says ‘Fuck’ quite a lot. Verity is confused about her feelings for Boone, is he or is he not the jerk she thought he was after that night. That night that changed her life and created the secret eating away at her soul. So it will be interesting to see how this novel ends and how the secrets make their way through the novels plot.
So far I have found two quotes from the book that I like very much. Let me share them with you.
Women were sure passionate about their flowers, but my guess was that a lot of the beauty in the world came from women. I know my ma sure was one beautiful lady.
– Boone
I felt her hand in my jeans pocket, and she made a grab for what she thought was the bulge of my keys.“Not the keys,” I said as she grabbed my dick.My still hard dick.“Damn, Boone.”
I want to see Verity be BRAVE. To be able to share her secret with Boone. To stand up to her father, be the brave, confidant, and outspoken person she wants to be…
For all the Past glances and for the Future I hope Boone and Verity can have together…
The secrets in the two novels are similar to secrets that any woman could have. The setting of the secrets are written in a way that engages the reader and draws the reader into the story. Making this reviewer only that much curious, as to what River Pearl’s secret must be. For Aubree and Verity’s secrets are pretty big ones.
Whew!!! River Pearl and Brax have it out. Words are slinging faster than Brax’s spatula grilling frog legs at a family BBQ…
Chapter 17 was quite climatic, and a tear jerker (at least for me).
Will Verity’s secrets break her and Boone? What about her relationship with her father?
Like the Heroine, Verity, I also grew up in a religious family. We went to church every Sunday morning, night, and Wed. night too. My daddy read his bible every night before retiring off to bed. Even though he was my father and I loved him we were not very close. It seemed he could talk to my older siblings better than he could me. Seems no matter how young or old you are, it is hard to please our parents. I can feel the emotion and fear running through Verity. I just can’t wait to see how this novel ends…
And I just finished it. Lordy, my eyes hurt from crying through the last of the novel, Chapter 17 and onward. The ending was so sweet. Know I just want my ‘sugar’ here to cuddle and kiss. Such a good story. Now, sad to see it end. Plus have to wait till May 2014 (4 months) to read Book 3 in the series, Braxton and River Pearl’s story. Hmm, wonder if her founders day project holds the secret to that story? Wonder what Braxton will be ‘cooking’ up?
Here is a recipe from Verity, (and Braxton approved)

4.0 Rosebuds of Writing Raves
Writing was detailed. I felt like I was in the bayou with the characters. Being a past preschool teacher I could feel the excitement of Little Henry and his relationship with Boone. Dawson took us on another frog gigging adventure. But none for me thanks… I was sucked into the story. The details of Verity’s clothing and Boone’s skill as a landscaper makes these characters pop right out at readers. I felt a kinship to Verity. She was the quiet, shy, preachers daughter. Yep, I was the shy and quiet deacons daughter. This book touched so many of my emotions…
2.5 Tear-Drops
There were a few tears here and there. I could tell Verity was hurting from keeping her secret inside so long and worried about Boone’s and her Father’s reactions. Yet, it wasn’t till Chapter 17 that the tears streamed constantly down my face. Then especially in Chapter 18 and the Epilogue. I used many a tissue for the end of this novel. Not sad tears, but emotional happy tears for how it all worked out. Sweet, sweet ending to a wonderful read!
4.0 Romance Rave
A Perfect Mistake was one LOVE of a read! Once the Hero and Heroine joined up, their love was hotter than the bayou on the hottest day in the summer. These two just could not keep their hands off one another. Plus you caught Booker and Aubree kissing too…
Yes, this read has more steam than Book 1. Verity and Boone really now how to make each others heart race. Readers, you also may learn a little about Jock Straps while reading this novel 😉
4 out of 5 read-ologists recommend this WordPress.com site. ups and downs of writer's insanity and day to day life. I will write whatever makes the voices happy, for a writer that ignores her inner voices is merely a mental breakdown waiting to happen. Keeping the voices happy and creating new worlds for them to play in is my main goal.
