He pulls his head back leaving the lingering smell of spice invading my nostrils. It makes them flare violently, trying to take in as much of him as possible. Once he does pull back, he lingers for a moment and my heart beats rapidly against my chest. Can he feel it? Can he hear the boom, boom, boom sound thumping against my ribcage? It’s almost deafening me.
“Trust me,” he says, leaning in to touch my lips with his. At first he moves in slow, coaxing my mouth open a little. I suck in his breath, taking every morsel of his minty fragrance. I’m not sure why my body is reacting to his every move, but it’s almost as if it’s seeking out something, and that something is this mysterious patterned stranger standing in front of me coaxing my mouth open to meet his.

As I clip clopped through this trip of mind altering twisty dark dimensions I knew I could never be able to do justice for a review in which it should be recognized. So many layers to Elias, and yet so many more in Hanley and her completely warped family’s past.

I’m not sure if there is one word that would define this story’s evolution other than making up my own and that’s just Fuck Hot! So many levels of depravity and deviant secrets and lies that come out and completely shatter your faith in family, friends, honesty, and trust, however the epitome of a good strong honest alpha male book boyfriend is ELIAS.

Each and every character in this story plays and important key to unraveling the suspense, and thrilling mystery in the make. The author has a strong grasp on penning each detail about them that’s just an integral part to bringing this haunting tale into fruition. Once you think you have it all down to Hanley’s deranged family history you start to see the cracks in the make up of Elias’s deceitful family history, and oh what malfunction!

I must confess I have a highly obsessive craving for mafia/cartel themed stories that boarder on an intensely addictive personality disorder and thank gawd I found Sparrow! This one was so richly detailed with tons of suspense in each chapter, with each lie, with each covered secret, and with each and every clever deceitful undisclosed deception being ripped apart at the seams.

This Author knows how to create an action packed web of lies that shroud these characters so well you don’t know what book boyfriend to root for. I mean one moment I’m all for Brock and his Romeo, white chromed, mega watt smile and in the next moment I’m all #TeamTroy, the Fixer, the Don, the Capo, THE BLACK HAIRED DEVIL who has me forever. The many twists and turns had me constantly turning the pages at Mach 1 like a junkie seeking her next hit. It was quick, sexy, sweet, funny, intense, emotional, hateful and loving all wrapped up in a juicy all sense overloaded joy ride!

I did adore Sparrow, my little red birdie, sorta like an anti-social, anti-heroine, who packed quite a punch, never backed down, never wavered from her goals and fought her battles well. She was sweet, fun, sexy and brilliant, she kicked a$$ and sucked the love out of the deep dark cavity some would say was a heart from her monster. Lucky lady!
What a ride! Loved the shite out of every minute of this sorta arranged marriage from a couple that learned to love each other, that never gave up on each other who lived together, who grew to adore each other and their idiosyncrasies, lies, secrets and revealing betrayals.
