Okay. So no one actually kills themselves in this book.
The Coolest Way to Kill Yourself pulls you into the early 90’s New York City rave scene, in all its chaotic, psychedelic glory. The narrator grabs you by your wrist and drags you behind two teenage lovers from New Jersey as they tumble through a whirlwind of reckless hedonism that eventually spirals into a dark, devastating world of drug addiction and heartbreak.
As a teenager, Lynn cried, “No one is ever going to write something for me.” Nearly two decades later, in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, Nicholas did just that. The gesture came too late for our unlikely heroine, but his heart was in the right place. A broken heart… but a true love. Reunited after years apart, Lynn and Nicholas embraced their love and sexuality, and embraced each other, despite troubled pasts, despite illness, despite all of their imperfections and mistakes. They shared the kind of honest and shameless connection that few have had the honor of knowing, and most would never understand.
“We’re not hurting anyone. We’re just living life without caring what anyone thinks about us.”
“It’s the coolest way to kill ourselves,” Lynn said.
So turn the page, and pull the trigger.

Nicholas Tanek is an American ghostwriter from New Brunswick, New Jersey. He graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelors in English. He has been a ghostwriter for over 15 years.
My name is Nicholas Tanek and I wrote The Coolest Way as a tribute to the love of my life who passed away 2 years ago at the age of 37. This book is the most important thing that I have done in my life. This true story tells a love story that spans two decades. We dealt with depression, drug addiction, abuse, homelessness, prostitution, and many other devastating issues. Although it was just a summer romance that faded away, we came back years together. We saved each other. Love and honesty saved us. It was not religion. It was not psychotherapy. Love saved us. I promise you that this is a very unique and personal book. It is a true story that is filled with hard drugs, kinky sex, and an endless amount of music references. Please read with an open mind and an open heart. It’s the coolest way…
How do you even express yourself for a book such as this, I’m not sure. I’m completely at a loss for words here just as much as I’m at a loss as to how to mentally repair myself. This Author really knows how to reach way down deep into your soul and rip everything out. I honestly feel destroyed, damaged, wrecked, and torn asunder, however at the same time I do feel more complete, fulfilled, or maybe just healed enough to move on with my own life and brush the struggles from my past aside. No matter what the Title to the book is people, his words hold a true meaning for real life and true love.
5 – Hearts – True Love – Soul Mates
The Author tells this story of his own real life circumstances in a very true, gritty and raw way, it truly is a work of art and unique to his own style of writing. He tells us about two people who are destined to be soul mates for I believe this is what they were, a true romance and a forever kind of love. They start out very young yet share many experiences and go through a lot of emotional turmoil together. This is his story, written for his love, Lynn. This is his tribute to her as she passed and left him to mourn and struggle to overcome his grief.
Quotes:
“Like a suicidal person on a cliff, you just jump. Love is a feeling that is worth dying for.”
“Romance and danger are intertwined. The danger makes the romance sexier.”
“Jealousy is a dangerous mistress who will always leave you bruised.”
5 – Tears – Emotional Turmoil
The Author introduces us to the most honest and strongest woman I think I’ve ever read about, she was emotional but tough, independent, strong and her strength helps her overcome things no woman should ever have to go through. She has been through hell and back, struggling through addiction, mental and physical abuse, battered, bruised, homeless and later prostitution. She was an inspiration, she was a survivor.
Lynn wanted more from Nicholas, she wanted the whole American Dream, a husband, a family, the white picket fence and all. Nicholas wanted to live first, he was still very young and sex, drugs and rock and roll were what this era was all about, he wanted to experience it all. He did. She did. They did. This story is the consequences from those actions and their experiences.
The most unusual and uniquely original things about this author’s style of writing is his honest and open ability to share these experiences without regard to anyone’s censor. Meaning who cares what other people think, words do hurt, but he is honest and true to himself and us and willing to share these struggles and life’s experiences with the world. I absolutely admire him for this and always will. He is my inspiration and my muse.
Nicholas goes on to tell about experimenting with kink and opens up about his fascination with Femdom, which he later explains in detail. He tells about his experiences with sex, drugs, raves, and I truly think that music somehow played a big part in his coping mechanism to overcome his addiction to many things.
I could probably talk for hours about this beautiful one of a kind masterpiece but I shall have to stop now, I’ve said to much already. This book has changed my way of life and my way of thinking, I definitely feel as if everyone should have a copy of this and experience a sense of freedom. Open yourself up people. Pick this copy up, find love, happiness, heal, move on and have joy.
Mr. Tanek I cannot do justice with this review, all I can say is Thank You so much for changing my way of thinking and helping ME heal. You should not put a number of stars on perfection!
This is the story of a spirited angel and her ornery, sarcastic demon’s reconnect long years after a devastating split. Older and wiser, they’re now more determined than ever to be together, despite the odds and obstacles piling up against them. Packed with angst-filled thrills, sensual seduction and decadent chemistry, theirs is the epitome of forbidden love, their story romantic
and edgy, dark and yet deliciously humorous.
Seraphina Orielle, an angel of divine fire and light, was also an oracle of foresight. Considered adolescent among her peers, she had yet to master her gift of precognition when her first vision came to pass; a captivating male whose destiny was intimately intertwined with her own. Yet he was not of angelic design. In fact, he was very far from it. Tragically, by the time Sera discovered this pivotal detail, he had already attained ownership of her heart.
But not her ability to flee…
A hundred years later and Cole Asteroth does whatever the hell he wants. When he’s not busy, that is, with ‘dirty deeds, done dirt cheap’ for his master. Ornery and sarcastic, he gets his kicks wreaking havoc in the human realm. Oh, and making very un-angelic women beg for his touch. Life is good…
Until fate finally catches up with him.
A few weak moments, one too many innocent visitations and the two are entangled all over again. But not as they had been before; things are much more complicated now. And Cole no longer possesses much in the way of faith and forgiveness.
As the estranged lovers struggle with what path to take, they quickly discover that destiny, too, is a reluctant second chance provider. As outside resistance and decadent captivity ensues, can their situation get any more exasperating?
Holed up in the underworld, Sera is given an up close and personal introduction to Cole’s demon half, their constant subjection to evil bringing out his darker side for some insatiable interactions. Both equally curious, his demon half sees her as a challenge to possess, while she regards him as merely a larger, lustier version of Cole to explore. Still, they need to find a more stable home, and the adventures they embark on to find such are nothing short of hilarious, though at the same time, downright dangerous.
My Demon Determined
(My Demon Trilogy, Book 2)
By: Alicia Dawn and Nikita Jakz
Never did Seraphina foresee herself taking refuge in the underworld. Cole, however, should have. Sera’s kin would never let her go and this was the one place their holier-than-thou feet couldn’t tread. Unfortunately, residing in a realm of vile depravity only adds to his problems. Now he must keep
Sera safe from not only her kind, but his as well. Even Cole’s demon is more volatile from the subjection to incessant evil.
When the opportunity arises to solve their dilemma, he jumps at it with claws swinging. But it’s a dangerous mission – and Sera’s riding shotgun. As deadly adventures unfold and all hope seems lost, Cole is forced to search inside himself. With a soul that’s riddled with more questions than answers, can he find the lifeline they need?
This is the third book to the final story that has been written so far. In this segment you will learn more about Cole and his family background. Sit on the edge of your seat to see who wins the war between the angel, demon, and vampires. All the questions that you want answered are in this final installment of Cole and Sera’s story.
My Demon’s Destiny
(My Demon Trilogy, Book 3)
By: Alicia Dawn and Nikita Jakz
Just when Sera and Cole thought they were finally on the home stretch, their happily-ever-after just within reach, an unforeseen obstacle rears its ugly fangs. Each blindsided with their own brand of torture, they’re forced to discover what they’re truly made of. With new factions emerging, complicating their already problematic circumstances, heartbreaking sacrifices and startling revelations are made, even as intense confrontations hike the tension higher. As they battle for each other—and their very immortal lives—the conclusion to their love story becomes one of legends. Don’t miss the fiery finish to this forbidden couple’s tale of epic devotion.
These Authors take you on an eventful ride into the unknown and uncharted territories full of emotional twists and humorous turns. The level of clarity they write is so enriched with distinct verbiage that you feel as if you’re really there in the moment, feeling every emotion, seeing every character and traveling in every adventure. The characters that are brought forth had me busting a gut, laughing out loud and cringing in fear. The series was in a whole, outrageously suspenseful, thrilling and emotionally captivating.
5 – Hearts – Soul Mates – Lovers
Seraphina Orielle is an angel, literally. Cole Astaroth is a Demon, literally. When these two get together heaven and hell will collide and no prisoners will be spared. They fight tooth and nail for their flourishing romance and their love builds to a crescendo. Seraphina is running from her kin who are trying to keep her from this unholy union but nothing and no one will keep her apart from her Demon. Cole is bound to his keeper yet trying to protect his Angel from all danger as he fights to hold on to this forbidden Love.
“My Prince, never will I leave you. Into the bowels of hell I will follow you, as long as I am by your side.” ~Serph
“Good, ’cause that’s exactly where we’re going.” ~Cole
5 – Lips – Luscious Lust
Whoa, holy smoking hot hellish nights, to say these charms were erotic would be an understatement! My toes curled, my thighs tingled, my mind was feverish and I had to go out and buy some chap stick from licking my lips the whole way through. This Demon gives it to his Angel like hell is on fire and heaven is just a cloud away. Cole and Seraphina know how to bump and grind, get down and dirty, hop on the scotch, and play knick, knack, and paddywack very very well. LOL! Hang on to your undies ladies, these two lead you into an inferno of naughty wicked deeds yet you can feel their emotional connection as well in each touch and kiss they share.
~Seraphina~
“You delightfully sneaky Demon. You, Cole, are and always will be, my insatiable demon.”
Never had he taken her so hard. Blessed be, it was a good hard. A heavenly hard. An I’ll-be-sore-for-days-and-will-give-thanks-for-every-tender-moment-of-it hard.
“The sound of your heart beating is a balm to my soul.”
~Cole~
“Sera..” he hissed as her teeth grazed his length. “Ah Luv… your mouth is sinful.”
“I’ve been caged for far too long, I need some me-time to pay with my nice little treat.”
“I love you, my angel. I can’t wait to see forever with you.”
Yes these clever little charms were exactly what I need to extend my reading genre.
I am a very happy camper right now for finding a new wickedly devilish demon BBF. Cole was everything I needed in a badboy lover. Seraphina was so divine in her naughty and nice sugar a spice eloquence. I loved this book couple. I loved the numerous characters these to Authors brought to our world. You will have to pick this up for I cannot say anymore other than… OMG!! Caleb!!
I am hoping these Authors will read this and know that I am eagerly awaiting a story from a new Vampire Prince Caleb Alarik!

In one night, I lost everything: my hopes and dreams, my best friend, and Shadow’s heart. He told me he loved me, but it was just a lie.
The Midnight Society has fallen, reduced to ashes by a monster–a person whom we all once trusted. The betrayal has shattered our lives forever and Shadow, Lord of the Midnight Society, finds himself at a crossroad.
One road leads him further down the path of vengeance, filled with unending violence and dead bodies. The other road leads to me. However, our path to happiness is paved with broken glass and razorblades, and at some point, one of us is going to fall.
Welcome to the world of the Midnight Society.
Logan discovered both love and heartbreak at the tender age of seven, when the pretty little blue-eyed girl next door stole his Kit-Kat bar and shared it with the bad boy from across the street. Devastated, Logan found solace by escaping into imaginary worlds he forged with words, creating kingdoms where the chivalrous knight always got the princess.
Twenty three years later Logan spends his days in a suit and tie, working for the government on matters of network security. However his thoughts never strayed too far from the incendiary nature of love — the passionate fire that’s both scintillating and dangerous. Obsessed with exploring the steamy and mysterious side of human nature, Logan continues to create worlds filled with thrills, mystery, and of course, sex.
5 – Roses – Unique Story Telling / Creative Writing
This author takes us on another journey of suspense, mystery and dangerous heart pounding adventures. How clever and enthralling, be prepared to be swept away, into the lives of those who are in this secret club: The Midnight Society. 5 – Hearts – Soul Mates – Lovers
Aria is struggling to heal her battered and bruised heart after a whirlwind of a romance suddenly comes to a screeching, soul wrenching immediate halt. This leading lady holds her own though and never loses her commitment to protect those she is devoted to. Her friends… her family… she remains ever loyal. Her strength to overcome her raging desires will be tested as the remaining Midnight Society members band together to find their enemy.
“All that bullshit about wanting to leave The Midnight Society, taking me away and traveling, making love in exotic locations, was all a string of words meant to keep me around so I could be your fuck-buddy, am I right?” ~Aria
Shadow Tremaine is still as reserved, mysterious and secretive as ever, revenge is the only thing on his mind and he will conquer his need to bring justice to those that have suffered from the hands of his enemy. This hero will never stop the raging need to avenge his friends and family and destroy the enemy seeking out his loved ones and burning a hole in his psyche, even if it means losing the only woman he has ever loved.
“My mind has been preoccupied, if you haven’t noticed. I’m sorry if holding your hand, whispering sweet nothings in you ear, and taking you away on an extended vacation is not at the top of my list at the moment.” ~Shadow
5 – Lips – Erotic Delight
Yes this author knows how to write spicy scenes that not only will have your panties dropping but they will burst into flames. This couple’s hunger for each other had me sweating and wishing for my own partner to quench my thirst. Shadow is the type that keeps emotions inside yet his burning desire for Aria makes the animal in him emerge forceful and passionate until she submits to paradise.
Shadow was kissing me with a sense of urgency, his mouth was the coolness that could vanquish the raging fires within me.
His thrusts were slow at first, but quickened in pace as he placed his hands on my knees and pushed my legs apart, forcing my inner-muscles to clench tightly around his cock.
Aria is a very passionate character, she feels everything very keenly yet she remains focused and determined to succeed in fighting for her family and friends. She struggles with her desires and to repair her heart. Yet through it all there is one constant companion. Lincoln. This loyal friend will stand by her, he reminds her what she is fighting for. Lincoln will pick her back up and out of the depths of despair to show her that true love is always worth fighting for.
How will it end? Will Shadow find this evil enemy? Will he avenge all those that have fallen? Will he finally get his revenge and repair The Midnight Society? I am anxious to find out where Logan Patricks will take us next. This beautiful fairytale thriller did not disappoint and was everything I’ve ever wished for.
Thank You Logan Patricks you have captured the essence of a sensational book boyfriend, a sexy siren of a book girlfriend, a new charming book hero, and a shocking evil villain!

Hard as Stone is the
second book in the Passion in Paradise: The Men of the McKinnon Sisters Series,
but is a stand-alone novel (165,000 words) that can be easily read without
reading the first book.
“Roll on your side, baby. I want to take this sweet pussy from behind tonight.”
“But I like feeling you on top of me,” Harmony said, her cheeks burning with embarrassment at her admission.
“Sweetheart, I love being inside you any way I can get in there, but if you’re on your side, I can give you my dick and my finger on that slick little love button of yours. Trust me, darlin’, you’ll love it when I push that button,” he promised against her lips, nipping her chin with his teeth.
Harmony’s breath caught at the rough edge in his voice and she wasted no time doing as he bid, sighing when his warm lips dropped a kiss against the side of her neck to lick her delicious flesh. She knew the reward that could be found in Jake’s arms if she took her cues from him, and he didn’t disappoint her when his hand dropped between her legs and two fingers explored her saturated folds.
“So wet, baby,” he growled his appreciation, swirling his finger through her slit and over her swollen clit. “I love that,” he encouraged against her ear when her legs spread and her hips bucked against his hand. “Love how soaked and ready you are for me. Let’s see if you’re luscious little body is ready to take my cock yet,” he muttered, twitching his finger against her nub again as he pierced her with two fingers and pulled a low cry from her lips.
Harmony moaned as his fingers impaled her, fucking deep. “Oh, God, Jake,” she choked, rocking her hips back into his pelvis as his fingers withdrew only to sink in again a heartbeat later.
“Oh, yeah, all this sticky sweet honey says you’re more than ready for me, Sweetness,” he growled against her neck as he pulled his fingers from the tight heat of her pussy. “You want my cock, darlin’? You want me to fill you up and take away the ache?” he asked, his words vibrating against her skin as one hand curled around her breast and squeezed the firm globe gently.
“Yes,” she whimpered, pushing her head back against his throat as his fingers stroked through her swollen folds again and teased her clit. “Do it, Jake,” she begged, wriggling her ass against his hardness. His cock rimmed her entrance, offering her just a taste of heaven, but never truly delivering on the promise.
He sucked the vulnerable flesh at her neck; she felt his teeth scrape the shell of her ear. “Tell me first, Harmony. Who do you belong to?” he asked her, plucking her nipple with his thumb and forefinger before tugging it gently and sending a white hot pulse of pleasure from her stomach to her pussy. “Who does this gorgeous body belong to?”
“You,” she managed in a voice strangled by pleasure. Plying her nipple with one hand and her clit with the other, she felt like she was one long exposed nerve ending. “Stop teasing, Jake, and fuck me.” She panted roughly as she wriggled against his onslaught.
Book One:
Sarah
O’Rourke is the alter ego of two best friends who bonded over their passion for
romantic fiction and erotica. Born and raised in the southern United States,
one lives near Louisville, Kentucky, while the other resides in Atlanta,
Georgia. Formerly an accountant and a
chemist, they are now overworked, stay-at-home moms who adore their children,
their husbands…and writing about love in every way possible.
Currently focusing on their Passion in Paradise series, they love to write wildly intense
romantica stories that have multiple characters, but each book focuses on one
specific couple that will ALWAYS have a happy ending…eventually! The Passion in Paradise series follows the
lives of four sisters, who love and infuriate each other – and the men who love
them! Each book is a stand-alone and
does NOT require the reader to have read the prior books.
I was introduced to Hard As Stone and the Passion in Paradise series by the author, Sarah O’Rourke. I was asked about reading and giving an honest review. I agreed and here we are! Now I can honestly say that I AM GLAD I READ Cain’s Salvation and Hard As Stone!!!!
I absolutely LOVE this series and am…
Chomping at the bit for the next novel in he series to come out!!!
Rating
5.0 Rose of Writing Rave
From start to end this novel was wonderful!!! I laughed, I cried, and Jake had me SWOONING!!! This novel can be read as a stand-alone or as part of the Passion in Paradise Series. Though I would recommend reading it as a series. The characters are so life-like, exciting, and a total hoot! My favorite character is Aunt Orla. She is just so funny!!!! She keeps me in stitches!!!
The story-line contains sensitive material. But the characters stand strong loving and supporting one another through good times and bad.
Whether you read as a stand-alone or as a series, the authors make it clear the background of the characters. So if read Cain’s Salvation or not, the reader has an understanding of the make-up of each character and what they bring to the series.
Look for little details while reading. These little clues will give you a sneak peek into future reads in the series…
Even though there were a few grammar issues, this was a truly great read!!! So make sure and add this to your reading list. Then laugh, love, and cry with the McKinnon sisters. I promise the men in this novel are so, so, so!!!!!! SWOON-WORTHY!!!!!
3.0 Teardrops
Ok, if you are an emotional reader like I am then make sure and have your tissues handy. The chapters that effected me the most were 10, 11, 33, 34, 54 and 55.
Sisters Harmony and Honor have both had traumatic experiences with the opposite sex. Yet, as mentioned before it is through the love and support of family (blood related and so close they are family) that helps them to survive. What these two have been through will shatter your heart. Just know that they both have trusting, loving, and strong men to love and protect them now.
However the tears will not last for long. Soon Aunt Orla will have you giggling, while the men will have you swooning… ❤
5.0 Romance Raves
The novel begins with Jake’s POV. He is in the I Don’t Care Cafe watching Harmony work and thinking about the first time that he saw her and talked to her at the cafe. Jake describes his business in Paradise, lets readers know a bit of his past and how he looks. He is one tall and yummy drink of water. Just looking at this fine creation will make woman’s mouths go dry. He is just that HOT!!! With his long hair, tattoo sleeve and his Harley he rides into town on…
Read how one man and one woman who thought love was not for them find that special connection. It may take a while for the two to realize their love for one another, but the adventure to get there is sweet and sexy. The McKinnon sisters can be feisty when they want to be. In Jake’s case, that attracts him to Harmony even more. Thus also revs up their relationship. And Jake REALLY knows how to please a woman too! I even sent some scenes to my hubs… he told me they were so naughty…
Will Harmony learn to trust Jake? Will Jake get his Happily Ever After? Shhh… It’s a secret. You will have to read and find that answer for yourself. All I will say is that these men….
really do, SIZZLE up the pages ♨♨♨
I know when I finished reading my Kindle was HOT to the touch!!! So you have been warned. Keep tissues and cold water handy. You are gonna need both…
Happy Reading and Sexy Dreaming,
Anna

Hard as Stone by Sarah O’Rourke — Non-erotic excerpt
Stepping between her spread legs, Jake held her squirming body still as he fought not to laugh at her theatrics. “Calm down and settle,” he ordered against her temple, holding her firmly against him.
“I could have gotten on board with the pink carpet. I might even have been able to wrap my mind around a puppy. Maybe!” she railed, smacking his arm as she spat each sentence. “But dropping the bomb that you want me and my daughter to move in with you just takes the cake!” Jerking her gaze to him as she heard a low chuckle escape his mouth, she shook her head furiously. “Are you laughin’ at me? Trust me, I don’t find any of this funny, Jake!”
“I’m not laughin’ at you, darlin’. I’m just a little amused at our situation. See, I thought I’d been real clear from the outset about what I wanted. Are you honestly gonna tell me that this is a surprise, babe?” he asked, capturing her frantic eyes with his and holding them. “Look me in the eye and tell me that you didn’t realize that I was in this for the long haul. I told you weeks ago that I was staying in Paradise because of you, Harmony. And in the last month, I’ve gotten as wrapped up in Heaven as I am in her momma. Where the fuck did you think this was going?”
“I don’t know!” Harmony exploded in a burst of temper. Seriously, this is not the conversation she’d seen happening tonight. “Tonight, I’d hoped that it was leading to the bedroom, but I hadn’t thought too far beyond that.” Really, she’d just finally worked up the courage to get intimate with a man again after years of celibacy, and now he wanted more?
“Oh, the bedroom is definitely our destination for the evening, sweetheart,” he agreed with a slow, wicked grin. “But a night stolen here and there isn’t gonna satisfy me, Harmony. I’m a selfish bastard. I want everything you’ve got to give me. Your beautiful body is only part of that. Oh, it’s a gorgeous part, but I want the heart and mind, too. ”
“Jesus, Jake,” Harmony muttered weakly, her head falling against his shoulder as she sagged against him. “It’s all or nothing with you, isn’t it?”
“Told ya, baby. I’m a selfish bastard,” he whispered, wrapping his arms around her. “The good news is that I’m your selfish bastard. Yours and Heaven’s. And I’ll do whatever I need to do to keep you both safe and protected and to make sure you never doubt that you’re both loved and wanted.”
“I don’t know anything about you,” she whispered into his neck as her heart did a tap dance in her chest. What Zeke had said earlier in the day resonated in her brain. None of them really knew anything about Jake. She didn’t know if he’d ever been married or if he had any allergies or if he slept on the right or left side of the bed, for God’s sake. How the hell could she even consider living with a man she knew next to nothing about? How could that ever work between them?
He tilted his head for a second, then said, “No, I’ve never been married, I don’t have any allergies that I know about, and I sleep on whichever side is closest to the door.”
Closing her eyes, Harmony grimaced and burrowed her face against the space between his neck and shoulder. His familiar woodsy scent mixed with sweat and man comforted her, relaxing a little of the tension that hand taken up residence in her back. “I said all that out loud?” she asked in a tiny voice.
“You did,” he acknowledged against her ear. “And to answer your last question, this thing will work between us because I refuse to accept otherwise. We’ll find our way a day at a time, darlin’, but we will find it.”

Hard as Stone by Sarah O’Rourke – Erotic Excerpt
“So wet, baby,” he growled his appreciation, swirling his finger over her swollen clit.
Author Interview
1. How long have you been writing? We’ve been writing together for a little over 5 years now. Each of us was writing separately before that, and we met in a writing group! From there, we became best friends very quickly, and started editing each other’s work. Then we just seemed to glide into writing together! Somehow, it works for us!
2. Where did you get the idea for your series? The Passion in Paradise series grew from our joint like of small town life. We both grew up in small towns that closely resemble Paradise, TN, and we love to write about characters that we know! Being from the South, we have a strong affinity for family-type scenarios with strong women and take-charge men. And we also know that in a small town, EVERYONE knows everyone else’s business…and that’s a lot of fun to write!!
3. Is there a story behind the choosing of the characters names? The bulk of them have biblical names. Faith, Heaven, the twins Cain and Abel, etc… Well, since we were both raised in Sunday School, it can be said that these names were ingrained into us at an early age…although we’re fairly certain the Almighty or Sister Beulah wouldn’t necessarily approve of everything we put in this series! It’s not uncommon for people in small towns in East TN or the South to have Biblical names. You have no idea how many kids we went to school with that were named Matthew, Mark, Luke or John…and some of them had double-names, such as John Mark or Matthew Thomas or James Jeremiah. Sometimes they were diminutives, too – such as Big Matt (Daddy) and Little Matt (son). This was just part of life in a small, Southern town!
4. Do you have a favorite character in your novels? Crazy One is partial to Zeke….Crazy Two loves Patience…and Abel!
5. How many books do you plan to write in theParadise series? There will be at least six books – one for each of the sisters, then 2 more for other couples in the town…and we have ideas for at least a full dozen!! So…who knows?
6. Can you give us a sneak peek of book #3 and when it will be released? Book 3 is Ready, Willing, and Abel — and tells the story of Patience McKinnon and Abel Turner…and what happens when night of passion goes completely off the rails! Teaser below:
“Thank God I’m not a man lacking self-confidence, Hellion. Otherwise, you’d be hell on my ego,” Abel groaned, burying his face in the crook of her neck while one arm contracted around her waist, holding her tightly.
“Oh, no. Your self-confidence is unmatched,” Patience muttered, still squirming between his hard body and the wall. “It’s your self-control that needs work.” Lifting her eyes to Abel’s she narrowed her eyes to slits. “You’re not getting this, Abel, and you really need to get me here. Since all the blood in your body seems to have gotten diverted to your dick, I’m gonna speak real slow and in terms that even Dr. Seuss could understand, okay?”
Waiting for a second, she watched one perfectly shaped eyebrow lift on his handsome face in silent askance before she continued. “I will not fuck you in the hall. I will not fuck you against this wall. You should really be a better learner. I will NOT fuck you, Abel Turner.”

Formerly an accountant and a chemist, they are now overworked, stay-at-home moms who adore their children, their husbands…and writing about love in every way possible.
Currently focusing on their Passion in Paradise series, they love to write wildly intense romantica stories that have multiple characters, but each book focuses on one specific couple that will ALWAYS have a happy ending…eventually! The Passion in Paradise series follows the lives of four sisters, who love and infuriate each other – and the men who love them! Each book is a stand-alone and does NOT require the reader to have read the prior books.
Well Readers, this gal is one happy blogger about now. I am so excited to have the two authors that make up ~ Sarah O’Rourke will be the Spotlight Author(s) today!!!!
I was contacted by the author to read and review both novels here. Currently I have read Cain’s Salvation. To be honest I was not sure about it at first for I am not much of a military romance reader. Though after I got a few chapters in I was HOOKED!!! As soon as I finished book 1 I was ready to read book 2, Hard as Stone. Both novels start out with the Heroes POV. Then it flips back and forth between the Hero and the Heroine. Book 1 is a shorter read at just a little over 20 chapters. Book 2 has over 30 chapters. At this time I am on Chapter 12. I had to have my tissues handy for chapters 10 & 11. So I am going to go back to reading now!

Bad things happen in threes. For Nora Jamison, this couldn’t be truer. Her grandmother just passed away, her best friend is in trouble, and she just hit a man with her car. It cannot possibly get any worse. Wrong! Nora quickly finds herself thrust into a world she never knew existed. Werewolves are real, and they are after her and the mysterious stranger she hit. Running for her life, she ends up on a ranch in Texas. Stuck in a new, unfamiliar world, she gets to know the man that helped rescue her. Daniel McKinley is different than anyone Nora has ever met. Despite his rough exterior, Nora can tell there is more to him than meets the eye. However, Nora has a tiny secret of her own. She can only hope that when Daniel learns it he will still look at her the same way.
Daniel McKinley has always been a loner. His father trained him to be an alpha through brute force—not through people skills. Now that Daniel’s older brother is alpha instead, he has become even more of an outcast. Despite their differences, the wolf in him craves the acceptance of his brother—his alpha. While trying to prove himself, he is involved in an accident that draws a human into the line of fire. Unwilling to see an innocent hurt by the enemy wolves after him and his pack, he vows to protect her. Nora is kind, caring, and strong. His past is dark and he fears if she learns too much it will scare her away. Although, he tries to keep his distance, there is something about her that draws him in. Can he keep Nora safe and earn his brother’s trust in the process?
Nora covered her mouth as she yawned. Her eyes focused on the road as she reached down, lifting her coke to her lips. Nora took a long swig before returning it to the cup holder.
The blue-green illumination of the dashboard clock read 12:03 AM. It was late, and she’d been driving for hours, but she would not stop until she reached her destination.
With a trembling hand, she picked up her cell phone and listened to her best friend’s voicemails again. She’d been stuck at work when April had called earlier, and had only just gotten the frantic message when she’d gotten off.
3:56pm
Hey, Nora, it’s April. I just wanted to let you know that I made it home okay. I know this is going to sound weird, but I need you to stay away from the apartment for a few days. I will wire you some money for a hotel. It’d be even better if you found one far away from home. I promise I will try to explain everything soon, but I can’t right now. Just please trust me when I tell you not to go home. I hope you get this soon. Call me when you do. I’ll, uh; I’ll talk to you later, okay? Be safe.
4:15 pm
Hey, it’s me again. Um, listen, my families in trouble, Nora. I think you could be too. I’m going to text you my address. I need you to head down here as soon as you can. Please call me as soon as possible.
The phone clicked, and Nora smashed her finger over the buttons, setting the phone back on top of her purse. Her hands shook as she gripped the steering wheel. Her eyes stared out the window into the pitch-black night. She’d received that ominous message around five hours ago, shortly after she’d left work. She still hadn’t been able to reach her best friend. Every call went straight to voicemail. Terrified, she’d hopped in her car and started the long drive to Louisiana.
Stifling another yawn, Nora glanced over at her GPS. If it were correct, she should reach April’s home within the next fifteen minutes. Once there, she could check on her friend, and find out what the hell was going on.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a blur of yellow making a beeline for the street. She slammed on the breaks, causing the tires to squeal. A man dashed into the road, and she screamed as a loud crunch echoed through the car.
The man’s body rolled up onto her hood, colliding with the windshield. The glass cracked, and tiny spider webs erupted across the window. His body tumbled backwards.
Nora held the steering wheel as a vice, watching in horror as he hit the pavement with an unforgiving thump. He rolled and attempted to stand, but quickly fell back to the blacktop. She held her breath, waiting for him to get up, but he didn’t. Her heart dropped and she took a shaky breath in.
Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god!
Pulse thrumming in her ears, she pushed her door open, unbuckled her seatbelt, and climbed out. Her eyes stayed transfixed on the deathly still person. Nausea churned in her stomach, and she gagged seeing the awkward angle of his arm. Her knees wobbled as she forced her feet forward.
“Please be okay. Please don’t be dead,” she mumbled as she approached him.
Blood oozed into his brown hair, streaking the cocoa strands with red. His chest rose and fell in shallow, uneven breaths. The man coughed, groaning as he rolled. He placed a quivering hand on the road as he attempted to sit up again.
“Thank god you’re not dead! Are you okay? I’m not sure you should be moving,” Nora babbled as she held her hands out, unsure if she should touch him or not.
He twisted, his emerald green eyes connecting with hers. Red dribbled out of his nose, pooling on his lips. His intense gaze gave her pause and she felt her breath catch as she got lost in his beautiful irises.
“Who are you?” he coughed, struggling to his feet.
Nora blinked, snapping out of her trance. “I’m so sorry. Are you okay? I need to call the police. You need to get to the hospital,” she rambled. Heat crept over her cheeks at her own stupidity. She’d hit a man! He needed medical help. How was he even standing? Why hadn’t she brought her phone out of the car with her?
“No!” he yelled, clamping his good hand around her wrist.
Nora jumped at his outburst. Her eyes widened, and pulse kicked up a notch.
“No,” he said quieter. “I…I don’t have insurance. Please, just help me get out of here. Give me a ride to a motel or something.” He stared at her for a long moment. “What’s your name?”
Nora looked down at his fingers that still encircled her wrist. Tiny nicks marred his skin. As she continued to assess him, she saw a large gash along his cheekbone, and blood covered his yellow shirt and dark wash jeans. His left shoulder and arm were mangled, but she couldn’t tell if it was broken or dislocated.
Realizing he was still waiting for an answer to his question, she said, “Nora, Nora Jamison.”
“I’m Daniel McKinley. I think we should get out of here, Nora.” His eyes scanned the tree line to her right and she followed his gaze.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” she asked. “I can call an ambulance—”
“No. Come on,” he interrupted, hobbling forward and pulling her along with him. His fingers were warm on her wrist and a tiny tremor of heat crept through her.
Nora allowed him to lead her as he stumbled to the passenger door and jerked it open. Yelling erupted from the trees, sending cold chills down her spine. Swallowing, she surveyed the brush. Her breath caught in her throat as three men emerged from the tree line, followed by a large grey wolf. How is that even possible, she wondered, eyes transfixed on the large creature.
Nora flinched as the wolf howled and the three men bounded toward them. She took a few steps back, her feet faltering as her butt met her car. Pushing off the steel, she whirled around and sprinted to the driver’s side door. A loud crackle rippled through the air, followed by a groan. Daniel slumped to the ground as his body contorted.
Horrified, Nora watched through the open passenger door as his yellow shirt tore free from his body. Reddish-brown hair erupted onto his back. He positioned himself on his hands and knees, seconds before his back jolted upwards. Another snap sounded, followed by a howl as he sprung forward.
Nora clamped a hand over her mouth as she watched the man become a wolf. She closed her eyes, and opened them again, still not believing. Yet, the wolf remained where the man had been. He lunged at the other wolf catching him mid air, and driving him to the ground.
A sob tore through her throat and she ripped her car door open. Sliding in, she was about to pull the door shut when an arm grabbed the handle, tearing it from her grasp. Warm, calloused hands wrapped around her left forearm and hauled her out of the vehicle. Her attacker yanked her into his firm body, holding her tight.
Frantic, Nora kicked her feet, struggling against the man in every which way, hoping to break free. Another man approached and easily dodged her swinging limbs.
“Get off me,” she screamed, throwing her head back as hard as she could. It hit something hard, and the man behind her grumbled obscenities. Lurching forward, she reeled back again, ignoring the pain slicing through her skull as it connected with the man. The assailant stumbled, his grip loosening ever so slightly. Unwilling to give up, Nora lifted her foot, and slammed her heel down. The man’s arms let go, and she raced forward, using her momentum, she ran straight for the other man. Raising her hands to her face, she swung her right leg, catching him off guard as she connected her foot with his manhood. The man cupped himself, and groaned, falling to his knees.
Her triumph was short-lived as a strong grip wrapped around her torso. No! She bucked against her attacker to no avail.
“You’re going to pay for that you stupid, little bitch,” the man rasped in her ear.
You’re a fighter, Nora, Fight!
Nora thrashed in his arms, but his hold was unforgiving. The man behind her stiffened, his fingers dug into her arms. Snapping her head up, she gasped as she watched the reddish-brown wolf tear into the man she’d kicked only moments before. The man gurgled, sputtering as he coughed. Crimson poured from his mouth as his body trembled. The wolf growled and turned toward them.
“You don’t want to hurt her, do you?” the man sneered as the reddish-brown wolf approached. “You’ll have to come through her to get to me.”
Nora whimpered; cringing away from the man as his hot breath blasted against her neck.
The wolf snarled, baring his massive, white canines. Nora halted her movements, eyes transfixed on the wolf’s golden eyes. His head cocked to the side, watching her before he lunged.
Nora shrieked as she was tossed toward the car. Her hands rose up to protect her face, but it was too late. Nora’s forehead smacked against the edge of the door. Her vision clouded, then went black.
Daniel snapped his jaws as he dove at the man. Like a coward, the human threw the girl out of the way, and spun around to flee to the woods. Daniel grunted as he jumped with his nails outstretched, tackling his enemy to the ground. His jaws clamped around the man’s neck, and with one quick twist, the bones crunched.
With a grunt, he pulled back. His body throbbed and breaths came in unsteady, labored pants. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath in and hobbled over ensuring that the three men and wolf were in fact dead. Satisfied, he sniffed at the young woman. The metallic stench of blood invaded his senses, and he whined as he inspected her. There was a long laceration just above her eyebrow. He nuzzled her, relieved to see that her chest rose and fell evenly.
Daniel took a step back and lowered himself to the ground. Gritting his teeth, he whimpered as his broken body snapped, the bones realigning as he transformed. He stood up with a grimace and stretched his stiff limbs.
Limping, he walked over to the closest man, quickly removed the man’s shoes, and tugged his jeans down. He was sure the young woman was going to have a lot of questions when she awoke, and he assumed it would go a lot better if he were wearing pants. The last thing he wanted was to frighten her anymore than she already was. He stripped the man with a broken neck down to his boxers. Then put the jeans and black tee on. Setting the socks and shoes in the car, he carefully lifted the woman into his arms and laid her across the back seat of her car.
Daniel took a moment to look over the unconscious woman. Her copper hair fell in soft waves. Light freckles sprinkled across her cheeks and nose. The scared amber eyes that had been alert only moments before were shut. Her breathing was even, and aside from a few red marks on her creamy skin, the only visible injury to her was the cut above her brow. She should be okay, he thought, at least he hoped she would be. Once they got someplace a little safer, he would stop and clean her up, and tend to both of their injuries.
One way or another, she was involved in all of this now. It was his duty to keep her safe.
He climbed into her Cavalier and shut the door, taking off down the road.
Nora chewed on her lower lip, taking in Daniel’s shirtless torso. Muscles rippled across his chest as he dodged a punch. He caught his opponent and threw him to the floor. The men around them cheered as the bloodied man held up his hands in submission.
“Daniel’s one of the best fighters here,” April told her.
Daniel turned so his back was to them. He slowly backed away from the fallen man. Nora gasped her eyes transfixed on his back. Long dark scars covered his sweat-covered skin.
“They’re claw marks,” April whispered. “Probably why he’s such a good fighter.”
“Any idea what the tattoo means?” Nora asked as she admired the symbol written on his left shoulder blade.
“I’m not sure.”
“It looks Chinese,” Nora wondered.
April shrugged. “Guess you’ll have to ask him,” she grinned giving her a playful nudge.
Nora snorted. “I haven’t spoken to him since the day I arrived. I’m not sure he wants anything to do with me.”
“He’s been really busy. All the guys have,” April said, earnestly. “They’ve been constructing a new building and putting up fences. From what I’ve seen, he’s not much of a talker either. You might need to approach him. He’s kind of hot.”
“April,” Nora flushed. She put her fingers to her lips hoping no one noticed the heat creeping across her cheeks.
“Well, he is. Clearly you agree.”
“Maybe a little,” Nora mumbled.
April giggled bumping her lightly on the arm. “You should try to talk to him. He’s kind of a loner, but he did risk his life to save all the people who made it out of my pack. He’s a good guy—just quiet. Kind of reminds me of someone I know.”
“I’m not quiet,” Nora huffed.
“Not now. But you used to be when we first met. And you can still be reserved sometimes.”
“Well, I am in a different state surrounded by people I don’t know who just happen to turn into wolves. You’ll forgive me for being a little reserved right now,” Nora replied, rolling her eyes. “Speaking of guys,” Nora started, nodding toward a guy with dark blonde hair and brown eyes. “Who is he? He’s staring at you.”
April followed her gaze. “That’s Jackson.”
“Your on-again-off-again?”
“Yeah.”
“He’s cute.”
“Yes, he is.”
“You two starting something up again?” Nora questioned.
“I don’t know. The romance is there, the love is there, we just can’t seem to agree on anything,” April sighed. “He’s not like Juarez; he would never stop me from doing anything. But, he’s been very vocal about me going to school. I’m kind of an outcast amongst my group. My need for normal, human life is very taboo. At least according to them.” April stood up on her tiptoes and waved at Lark and Natalia as they entered the barn. “I fit right in here.”
“Hi,” Lark smiled as she waved to them.
Natalia gave them a nod and her eyes wandered around the barn. Nora couldn’t help but notice how uneasy the other woman appeared. Nora didn’t know a lot about the werewolf world, but it seemed odd that the alpha female would be so standoffish.
“You feeling up to this?” Lark asked.
“Yeah. I do yoga and run, but April tells me this is a little more intense,” Nora shrugged.
Lark nodded. “It is. Devon and I usually work one-on-one, but with all the new people we want to make sure everyone is prepared.”
“So this is like basic training?” Nora asked.
“You could call it that,” Lark agreed. “I could also work with you on learning to shoot if you’re so inclined. The wolves aren’t too keen on it, but it could come in handy. We humans are at a disadvantage.”
“I’ve never shot a gun before.”
“I’ll teach you if you want,” Lark offered.
Before Nora could respond, Gene’s voice boomed through the crowd instantly silencing everyone.
“Good evening. Thanks for joining us tonight. I thought we’d start tonight off with a run, and then break into groups for sparring. We’ll run a two-mile stretch tonight around the perimeter of the buildings. Everyone take a minute to stretch and warm up.”
Nora lifted her ankle and tucked it up. By chance, her eyes caught Daniel’s, he gave her a small smile and started moving in her direction. Her heart kicked up a notch and she forced an even breath in. However, several feet before he reached her he pulled up short. The smile slipped from his face and he turned around and left. What in the world, Nora wondered.
“Hey, Devon,” Lark greeted, melting into the alpha.
Devon wrapped one arm around her and placed a kiss to her head.
“All right. Everyone warmed up? Let’s get going,” Gene shouted.
“Don’t push too hard, Nora. Stop if you need to,” April suggested as people started filing out of the barn.
Nora grumbled under her breath and she was about to lash out when she noticed Daniel hanging back. This could be her chance to talk to him, she realized.
“I’m fine. But I’ll probably pull up the rear just in case.”
April gave her shoulder a gentle squeeze and then followed Lark, Natalia, and Devon out of the barn.
Nora turned her attention toward Daniel, who still stood against the haystacks. Most everyone had already exited the barn, but he hadn’t moved. Inhaling sharply, she walked toward him.
Daniel’s eyes focused on Nora as she approached. Her copper hair was pulled up, except for a few loose strands around her face. The black tank top and shorts she wore clung to her body accentuating every glorious curve.
“Hi,” she greeted.
“Hey.”
“You running tonight?”
“Yeah. I like to run alone though, so I usually give everyone a few minute head start.”
“Oh.”
Daniel grimaced realizing how she probably took that. “I mean,” he cleared his throat. “We could run together if you’d like.”
Her eyes lit up and a smile slid across her face. Daniel relaxed, relieved. He gestured for her to lead the way.
Once outside, they both started at a steady jog.
“Do you do a lot of running?” Daniel asked after several moments of silence.
“On the treadmill. This is a little bit different,” Nora admitted, sucking in a deep breath through her nose. “What about you? Do you do a lot of running like this?”
“I’m more used to being in my wolf form, but this is nice too.” When she didn’t say anything else, he elaborated. “It’s more intense as a wolf. You can see things, feel things; everything is so much more vivid.”
“That must be nice. I saw you fighting earlier. You’re pretty good.” She cleared her throat and sucked in another breath. Daniel peered over at her to make sure she was doing okay. A fine sheen of sweat glistened on her brow, but her breathing seemed even. Her head turned toward him. “Maybe you could, uh, teach me how to fight too.”
Daniel hesitated for a moment, causing his steps to falter. She wanted him to teach her. “I’ve never really taught anyone. I’m not sure I’d be a good teacher.”
Nora shrugged, pushing forward. “I’m sure Devon or Gene could teach me then,” she replied after a long moment.
Daniel gritted his teeth. Great, now she thinks you don’t want to, he berated himself. “I could give it a try.”
“Thanks.”
“I’ll team up with you when we break down into sparring teams.”
“I’m not really a fighter. You might have your hands full,” Nora admitted, casting a glance his way.
“We all have to learn sometime. Besides, I’ve seen you in action. You have good instincts. I’m still not sure how you did that flip thingy when that guy had you over his shoulder,” Daniel admitted. He’d never seen anything like that before.
“I took gymnastics as a kid and I’ve been doing yoga for years now.”
“I think you’ll do just fine.” He nodded toward the light of the barn. “Home stretch.”
Daniel stood up, walked to the dresser, and set up the computer. He tapped something and the red screen popped up.
“Avengers?” Daniel asked.
“Sure,” Nora said sliding back so she was lying on the pillows. She patted the spot next to her and Daniel lay down, resting one arm behind his head and pulling her close with the other.
Nora sighed relaxing her head against his chest. The movie started and she smiled as Daniel’s hand rubbed tiny circles into her back.
Nora grunted as her warm cushiony pillow moved out from underneath her. Her eyes fluttered open and she squinted in the darkness. Daniel’s silhouette moved toward the laptop. The screen was black as white names scrolled over it. She’d missed the entire movie.
She sat up and stretched her arms up and over her head.
“I didn’t mean to wake you,” Daniel whispered, dragging his finger over the touchpad.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t a very good movie buddy,” Nora smiled. “Did you like it at least?”
“It was good. I heard there is a third one coming out, maybe we could go see that together,” Daniel offered.
She didn’t think the other movie was coming out for some time yet. That meant he didn’t know that, or he was planning to be with her for a long time. “I’d like that.”
Daniel shifted on his feet. “It’s late and we have an early morning,” he said, running a hand through his hair.
Did he want to stay but didn’t want to force it or was he trying to get out of staying, she wondered. He wouldn’t have spent all evening with you if he didn’t like your company, she reasoned. “Will you stay with me again tonight?” She tucked locks of hair behind her ear as she peered up at him.
“Yeah,” Daniel said. “Do you mind?” he asked. His hands rested on the hem of his shirt.
Nora licked her lips and shook her head. Her breath caught in her throat as she rose up to her knees. Feeling bold, she rolled her shirt up and let it fall to the floor. Daniel’s eyes appraised her for a moment before he lifted his shirt up revealing his taut upper body. She reached out, skimming her fingers up his chest. Daniel bent down, his lips capturing hers. Gently, he pushed her back until he hovered over her on the bed. His stubble scratched at her mouth as his tongue met hers. Nora moaned into his mouth as heat pooled between her thighs. She needed him.
His hand dipped down between them, flicking her jeans open. Nora gasped as his warm fingers slid down into her panties and he inserted one digit inside of her. Daniel kissed down her neck and shoved her bra strap out of the way, as he peppered his way to her breast and took the mound into his mouth. Nora cried out as he added another finger.
Her hands flew to his hair. She threaded her fingers through his thick locks. His free hand found her other nipple, and he rolled the tight bud between his fingers. Nora’s hips rose up greedily meeting his thrusts. His digits slipped in and out of her folds as her core ached for more.

5.0 Rose of Writing Rave
Werewolf Wars Book #3, Finding Our Way follows right off from the end of Book #2, Into the Unknown. Getting the readers attention and directly into the action of the story. Chapter one introduces the reader to the Hero and Heroine of this novel. Thus where the heroine is thrown right in the middle of the war and learning that werewolves exist. Each chapter will leave the reader wondering what threat is will be around the corner next.
In reading this novel I especially liked that the characters from Books one and two weaved in and out of the storyline. The way they interacted with the main hero and herione made the story seem so real. Plus it was nice as far as learning about these characters more and just how important family is to them.
The writing flowed, the plot took twists and turns. Just wait till you read about Sarah in this book!!!
The women are shown as hard workers. They want to do their share in protecting the family and the pack. Deep inside the human females may be scared, but they show courage, bravery and strength when needed throughout the plot of the story. The ending of the novel will have you craving more from this series.
