The Perfect Imperfection is a standalone in the Perfect Series, it’s a novella about Matt and Quinn, who we first meet in The Perfect Distraction, Book One in The Perfect Series and continue to read about in The Perfect Emotion, Book Two in The Perfect Series.
Quinn Danner always appeared to have the perfect life full of big dreams, high expectations and popularity. Living in perfection has always been harder than she ever made it appear. Throughout her life she always found ways to rebel against the pressures she felt from friends, teachers and most of all her parents. Unfortunately, these actions never benefited her and left her feeling empty. She never experienced a first love until college when she met Matt Preston.
Matt came into Quinn’s life sweeping her off her feet and opening her eyes to possibilities she never dreamt of. Both looked beyond their pasts and imperfections. Soon their love was filled with only perfection. While at college they were in a bubble that no one could burst, but when the realities of life away from college hit they separated. Soon thereafter, they fall to their old ways, neither ever really letting go of their love or moving forward.
Now almost two years later, after avoiding each other at all costs and numerous failed attempts to move on, they reunite in the most unexpected way. Matt’s determined to reconnect and show Quinn their love still exists, but Quinn’s life is filled with complications that may not align them to be together.
Matt and Quinn found love once, bonded and unbreakable until the strains and pressures of life broke them. Can they find each other again and reunite their love?
Melissa Rolka grew up in the Chicagoland area all of her childhood and has always had a love of writing. She started by keeping a journal at a young age and then in high school she started writing poetry. A couple poems were published anonymously. Then in college she majored in Philosophy, which required lots and lots of writing. After graduating from Marquette University she traveled west to Los Angeles. There she worked for the Writers Guild of America and found herself submerged in the writers world. She worked on small writings, but never pursued them. On the side she became involved with a small theater group. Eventually she made her way back to the Midwest, where her heart belongs, and worked in business for several years. She found love, got married and has two beautiful children. Being at home has allowed her to keep following her love of reading and writing.
The Perfect Distraction is her first full length novel. A second continuation of this story is in the works with hopes for a third. When Melissa is not writing she is caring for, playing with and loving her two kids. In between taking care of her family and writing she almost always has her nose buried in her Kindle.

“I believe that if someone says he loves you more than air, he’s lying to you.”
“Life without him was a silent film.”
Hope and Cameron made a five-year promise before college. Years pass and they never see each other again. But then one month before his planned wedding to Riley, Cameron looks outside and sees Hope in the pouring rain, watching him.
Now, three years later, Cam has one day – a sick day on this last Friday of summer – to convince the one woman whose very existence breaths life into his lungs, that sometimes love like theirs actually does exist, and it’s that kind of love that lives forever, no matter how hard you fight to forget about it and move on.
From the author of Non-Friction and Hope, Sick Day follows one man’s day-long attempt to persuade the love of his life that sometimes it’s okay to break promises if it means keeping the ones that count.
5 – Roses – Romantic Love Story – Creative Unique Writing
I’m sure we have all had days where we want to play hooky, our physical beings are unable to go on, or maybe our emotional psyche is just in ruins. In this creative story we find sometimes love is the common denominator that filters into a blood stream and takes control of emotional and physical functions. Sometimes one cannot sleep, the mind continues to dredge up memories of past encounters. One cannot eat for our bodies are full of emotional turmoil and yet somewhat empty for want of more… what could have been… what could be…
5 – Hearts – Devoted Couples – Love
Cameron is engaged to married, his job is unfulfilling , he is lost, confused and desperate to fill a void he is missing in life. Years ago he chose to walk away from a promise he once gave to his college love, his one true love, the one that got away, the woman he chose to let go and walk away from. Desperate to find this missing piece of his life he decides to take drastic measures and take a Sick Day from work to conquer a heart worth living for.
~Cameron: “I can’t have two halves of one life. One that belongs exclusively to you, and the other that belongs to the hope of replacing you. I can’t… exist without you.”
Hope McManus thinks she is stable enough in life where she came move on and settle down with someone she might be able to settle for. She finds she must have closurefrom her past with the only man she ever loved in order to end this unsettled feeling.
~Hope: “I came here to find you, Cameron, but if you don’t tell me why you disappeared, you’ll never see me again. I can’t keep beating myself up over this.”
3 Tears – Emotional Drama
The emotional drama the author weaves in this romantic tale of woe and passion is enough to have hearts pumping and nerves are forever frayed. The author writes in detail about how the thoughts and feelings of each character are portrayed, the scenery around them is described almost as if you were there… in the park, at a candlelight dinner, on a beautiful yacht and falling in love all over again.
3 – Lips – Hungry Love-Making
The spice we find in between the sheets in this romantic love story is exactly what we would want to explore when two people come together and share their souls. The turmoil was evident when their touches consumed them, their past collided when their lips savored each others and their bodies connected when their desires took control.
My middle finger massaged her clit before reaching even farther south and dipping into her, just a shallow taste on my fingertip.
We kissed hard, lost in the thrusts, my hands gripping hers so fiercely that my fingers went numb.
Watching her, feeling her come against me.. it spelled my end as well.
Will this long ago promise survive the test of time. Will these long ago lovers reconnect. Will love last. Let’s find out in this drama filled romantic tale of passion, woe and LOVE reunited.
Thank you Morgan Parker!
I LOVED this READ!!!
Syrina’s Groovy Reviews
“Don’t make me go home tonight,” I begged.
When her eyes found mine again, she nodded. I didn’t know what it meant, though. Was she nodding because I had to go home, or did she want me to stick around?
“Talk to me,” I begged.
“I can’t,” she whispered. “If I talk, I’ll lose everything I came here for.”
When I opened my mouth and started to speak, she placed a finger over my lips to silence me.
Leaning forward, she brought her mouth to my ear, and in a broken whisper, she asked, “Take me back to the hotel. Love me. Remember me. And then tell me whether or not you exist for me.”
“I don’t need to make love to you to know that, Hope. All I need is to take a breath of you.”
“Then breathe me, all of me,” she begged. “In my hotel room.”

Roxana Nights was late to another gig, thanks to her first love, and drummer. It’s been years since she left Jordan, but he won’t let her go. Then she hears a voice that pulls her under a spell and changes her whole world.
Trevor Malone just moved to Seattle with his band. Music is his only passion, until he lays eyes on Roxana. He’s never felt anything as strong as the pull to her. Now he needs to find a way to introduce her to his world.
There’s only one problem. A rival clan won’t rest until they’ve taken Trevor’s down. Unwilling to let old grudges die, they target Roxy. Trevor will do anything to keep her safe.
Roxy will find that the world she writes is closer to reality than she ever imagined. She’ll also learn that not all monsters are evil, though some are ruthless.
Will love stay strong when the past comes out? Can they survive the centuries old vendetta?
She slipped past him, and onto the wings of the stage. Her gaze fell on Mr. Voice who was tall, dark and smokin’ hot. Holy shit, I want to lick him. Scuffed combat boots were laced up over black leather pants that clung to muscular thighs, and his black shirt molded to the most impressive set of abs she had ever seen. Roxy wanted to trace the ridges with her fingertips. He turned, his voice dropping low as his eyes locked on hers. His words enveloped her. “… you’re the only one.” Her heart paused a beat before slamming into her chest at a rapid pace. His full mouth lifted into a grin that spoke of confidence as he held her full attention. Entranced, she fell deep into his eyes and the world stopped. Until a drumstick hit him in the head. He looked over his shoulder and shrugged sheepishly at his drummer before turning back to launch into the next verse. Mikey gently shook her shoulder. “Hey, Rox, come on. We have to warm up.” Her head bobbed in a nod at her brother, but she didn’t look over. She muttered, “Yeah, give me a minute,” or longer. As if he heard, Mr. Voice glanced over and winked at her before the next song started. “Blinded by beauty, falling at first sight, head over heels…” There was raw passion in his voice, and she couldn’t help wishing he was singing about her.

Both Roxy and Trevor have pasts that pains their hearts. Will the past get in the way of these two being together? Going to have to read to find out!
Rating
3.5 Rose of Writing Rave
I have read all of the Others of Edenton novels thus far. The others I could not put down. They held my attention and I could not wait to see what would happen next. This one it took longer to get into. Was still a good story, just did not hold my rapt attention as it seemed to take longer to get to any romance or thrilling danger.
4.0 Romance Rave
Once the romance started it did not stop. Even though it took a while in the novel for romance to happen, then it happened FAST!!! And was so sexy and smokin’ HOT!!! Readers you will SWOON over Trevor. He is HOT, sweet, thoughtful, and knows exactly what he is doing when it comes to romance.
My hope, my happiness, and my will to live. My heart was tattered and torn from the promise of real love.
Until him…
His profound love for living, fortune cookies and collection of rusty matchbox cars made me smile again. It is a simple love story. I found my rainbow, my pot of gold, my piece of beautiful all in one simple man. Miles.
Not every happy ending is perfect…
A hidden secret forces me to reveal my hand and choose between my Prince Charming and my family.
Whose parents abandon them in a trashy trailer when they are five years old? Oh Yeah! Mine do!
Hey Hoochies! I’m Milly, and I am tired of taking kicks to the gut. A broken family, an asshole husband and the loss of loved ones have left me crying Uncle, and declaring a serious case of the Fuck-Its!
I had my heart broken, stomped on and shattered before I ever started on my journey to find my little piece of happiness. With a bucket list, a ’66 Ford and wild dreams, I set out on an adventure that changed my life forever.
I found Cree…
A pirate with a little princess and they swept me off my ever lovin’ feet, filling my world with sprinkles, mac n’ cheese and the courage to live again.
They forced my fragile heart to trust and love without fear.
But the truth is, nobody’s past stays hidden forever. It’s an invisible monster waiting to attack and destroy. It has the capability to ruin everything you’ve worked to set right.
All it takes is one final blow to the gut to end everything…
Covering up pain is easy. It’s keeping it tucked away that’s hard. I’ve always needed the cover of tattoos to hide the nasty past that leached its way into me, tainting me beneath my skin.
Not the shiny, trendy tats, but the ugly broken kind, meant to keep the world at bay. If they weren’t enough, then my piercings, foul mouth and crazy hair usually did the trick. Life had taught me to never follow the rules, because when you do, you get burned.
My life was perfectly imperfect until Tripp…
Our relationship is what most would describe as fuel meeting fire. We were both hell bent on burning each other to the ground. Tripp was sexy as hell, a charismatic beast, and soon became one of my best friends. We shared a love of ice cream and tattoos as we blazed our own path that could only lead to a beautiful train wreck.
The only question left is, will we set the countryside ablaze with our hot tempers and foul mouths? Or will we paint our own happy ending filled with all the gushy shit normal people crave?
Armageddon has come. Angels and demons have erupted onto Earth’s surface, battling for domination. Alisha Grace witnesses this battle, and she, like so many others, expects the angels to win. It soon becomes apparent, however, that the demon forces have powers beyond belief as Gabriel’s angelic forces lose Armageddon.
Rai is a fallen angel, leading the fight with his demon allies. Commander Krillion and Captain Zara are leaders in the Seraphim force, and although their armies have lost to Lucifer’s demonic legions, they will not give up. But there is much more to this endgame battle than meets the eye. Even demons have history, and Rai will soon discover on which side he truly belongs.
In the meantime, Israfil, the angel of judgement day, receives a new vision. As hell covers the Earth in its dark genesis, Israfil senses the building of a new team that will fight the evil ones. A demon, a girl from Earth, warriors of the Seraphim and a being brought forth from Purgatory will fight on the same side-and only time will tell if they will be victorious, or if hope will be lost and darkness will rule the world for all eternity.

Synopsis
How do you start over when you gave everything to one life, one plan, and lost it all?
Althea refuses to allow herself to love again. Imprisoned in grief at twenty-four after her husband’s sudden death, she’s convinced her heart died along with him. She spends her days honoring his memory by clinging to the legal career he helped her to build and to the remaining pieces linking them together.
Griffen’s been running from his past. Despite success as an author and investigative journalist, he’s been traveling through life on autopilot. For a decade, he’s chosen perilous adventures and meaningless sex over the danger of any attachments. When he finally returns home to Pittsburgh, he’s slammed by the awakened memories and regret he’s spent years trying to escape.
A chance encounter brings them together. Their instant desire for each other – and the bond they discover between them – shocks them both. Despite her best efforts, Althea can’t resist Griffen’s charm or his intriguing proposition – if she agrees to a no-strings affair with him for the two weeks he’s in town, he swears he’ll walk away when their time is up. Assured she can test the waters of a new life while keeping her vow never to betray her husband’s memory by opening her heart to another, Althea throws herself into the escape Griffen provides her.
Their perfect plans go awry when the intensity of their connection overwhelms them. Will they risk it all on the chance of something great together…or will the power of their secrets and guilt tear them apart?
Griffen stroked her cheek and Althea thought how truly sorry she was to have woken him, especially because what she didn’t tell him was that tonight it wasn’t her deceased husband Jack’s face in her nightmare that turned to dust and disappeared. It was Griffen’s.
“Althea…” Griffen whispered.
“Shh. No,” she said softly as she reached up and caressed his face gently in return. “Will you just…will you please make love to me, Griffen?”
“Anytime, gorgeous.”
But it won’t be anytime anymore, Althea thought. He will turn to dust and I will be all alone. Again.
And she knew it had to be that way, because this emptiness in her heart was the penance she would always have to pay for failing Jack.
Griffen led her to the bed and they made love. It was the most tender and gentle experience of their time together. Griffen touched her everywhere, stroked her hair, kissed her face and soothed away each tear. He ran his lips down her chest and she gasped as he sucked her nipple into his mouth reverently. He somehow managed to put on a condom despite touching every part of her constantly and slid gently inside of her. She was grateful because she didn’t want any lead-in this time. She just needed him inside her, while her hands were full of his hair and his warm, giving flesh. She moaned and lifted his head from her breast to look at him.
“Baby,” he said, kissing her eyelids and finally claiming her mouth. She wrapped her legs around his, even curling her feet around his calves, desperately trying to make every inch of her body touch his.
She was so preoccupied with how full and complete she felt that her climax surprised her. This had not been about an orgasm, it was about closeness and human contact. Running off the demons of loss and fear, if only for a moment.
But Griffen didn’t know how to leave her unsatisfied. He couldn’t touch her without making her body go off like a sparkler in the backyard on the fourth of July, and even now, with his gentle lovemaking, it was no different. He groaned in her ear and came right along with her, spurring more spasms and electric shocks through her body.
“Oh Griffen, yes, Griffen,” she responded.
He leaned up and looked into her eyes, brushing her hair back from her face. His face looked so tormented.
“Oh Althea,” he said sadly over and over again, almost like a prayer, until he rolled over and held her until she finally fell into a blessedly dreamless sleep.
Excerpt #2
Althea leaned back and forced a smile and laugh as she looked around. Her brazen pretense was tossing kerosene on Griffen’s fiery emotions.
With each nervous dart of her eyes, Griffen’s heart pounded with more anger. He leaned closer and whispered hotly in her ear, “Is that better? Am I making you uncomfortable? God forbid someone thinks you aren’t a perfect widow pining away alone after all these years. That you’re still living an adult life,” he growled. “Maybe I should ignore your rules and touch you anyway. I know you like it when I do.”
“Stop it, please.” She breathed slowly, calming herself. “We can touch. Just not here.”
“Fine. I get it.” Griffen couldn’t stop how angry he felt.
The irony wasn’t lost on him. Most women he’d been with begged him to be serious with them and tell the world they were together. That had never appealed to him, until now. Yet here was this beautiful, desirable woman that he wanted to express affection to and she couldn’t bear to let anyone know they were together. He hadn’t even realized how furious it made him until he found his heart was racing and he was feeling hot with anger.
Althea must’ve sensed it because she leaned over and whispered, “No. You don’t get it, and you shouldn’t have to. This is my thing. My issue.” She looked around to see if anyone was staring at them and looked into his eyes. “I do want to touch you. I want you to touch me.” She swallowed and lowered her voice even more. “Very much.”
“Fine,” he gritted out. When he looked down at her, with her eyes turned up so full of concern while her lips parted and she panted just a little from the desire that coursed through them every time they were near each other, his heart pounded for a different reason. “I need to touch you, too…everywhere.”
“Yes, please,” she whispered.
