3.5 Rosebuds of Writing Raves

This reviewer gives the author a thumbs up for coming right out letting the reader know that the ending will be a cliff hanger. The story itself is incredible! I would have rated it a 4.0 if not for some of the grammar. For example, Rocky Road ice cream was spelled, Rocky Rode several times. Though I did enjoy that Webb wrote using Kentucky dialect, dropping the g on words like, mornin’, and ya for you. It really places the reader directly in the novel, in Kentucky, right in the middle of the action. This reviewer also is happy to see a new romance theme from all the rock stars, billionaires, and MC romance reads. The descriptions in the scenes show realism in how a coal mine runs, and how dangerous, dirty, and physical the job is. In reading, I began to wonder what a ‘Pinner’ was? So I even took time from reading the novel to do a little research.

Here is an article from a coal mining blog that provides a good understanding of what the Pinner’s job is underground in the mine. There are pictures on the Mantrip, and a couple of miners pinning and bolting . Showing just how physical, dangerous, and what space they have to move and work in.

From the first of the book to middle ways in the novel this reviewer had to have the tissue handy. The heroine, Carly Jo just does not have the best luck in life. At least at the part where we meet her, not long after high school graduation. Until then life had its ups and downs, but were more manageable. But readers you will see that Carly Jo is a strong independent woman who can look after herself, even if her temper sometimes gets the better of her. With that same temper leading her decisions, whether for good or bad…

The characters have a lot of innuendo between and about one another, especially between Colton and Carly Jo.

Both Luke and Colton are Hot Hunks!!! It would be hard to choose between them…

This is the third and final installment to the driven series and what an intense emotional roller-coaster of a ride. This book leaves off right where the second one ended with a WOW of a Son of a – Cliffhanger doozy. I felt everything very intensely, all the emotion, all the drama, all the angst, and all the love in every word written. This couple shows how the healing power of love stands the test of all times.

4 heart-throbbing forever hearts – couples in love.

Colton Donavan wakes up in the hospital after his near fatal crash in crippling pain and despair, his body isn’t functioning properly and his memories are few and far between, causing confusion in the edges of his subconscious and disjointed memories flicker through his mind.

Rylee is in near hysteria and numb from the soul from watching the horrific crash nearly take her lover, she is blaming herself for fighting and staying up late with him the night before the race. She is having flashbacks about her own near fatal accident that took her ex-fiancée, Max and her baby: her joy, and her hope.

Rylee nurses Colton back to life but it was not easy, she had the strength to fight, for him, for a relationship, for hope, for a future, for their love. Colton struggled to heal himself, he fought for her love, and in the end he healed her to.

4 emotional teardrops.

Throughout the emotional turmoil and gut-wrenching drama their family and friends were there for them and their support brought unbridled tears to my eyes. Beckett was a solid rock and the foundation of support for them throughout the story, always cheering them on, always pushing Colton to see more, feel more and be more for Rylee. Colton’s father Andy had me in tears with his paternal love and his words will be forever etched in my mind:

“The first time I saw him, he broke my heart and stole it all with one, single look.”

“Hurting is feeling and feeling is living, and isn’t it good to be alive?”

Colton finally opens up his vaulted secrets and lets all his nightmares come to fruition in his one chance at claiming and loving Rylee for his own. We finally see what kind of emotional scars impact his soul and creates such heavy baggage he must carry throughout his life. As he shares his past of atrocious acts with Rylee you can clearly see how amazing this heroine truly is. Smart, strong, perceptive, and very understanding to Colton’s every need. Sure they stumbled a bit or quite a lot, they were beaten down, built themselves back up and always, always fought for their love.

This is love. Me and him, making it work. One being strong when the other is weak. Thinking of the other first when they know their partner is going to feel pain.

Colton: “You are most definitely the fucking saint I don’t deserve.”

Rylee: “Every sinner needs a saint to balance them out.”

5 wham-bam, thank you, may I have another! scorching hot kisses – Hot-dele–icious sex scenes.

Wow this book did not scrimp on the scorching hot love scenes, they were emotional, sexy, mind-blowing, lip biting, and panty dropping Yum-O-scrumpcious! This author knows how to write a sex scene. They clearly connect the two characters with emotion in vivid detail. It was also a very integral part of the storyline and used to enhance the chemistry between them and show the healing power of love they portray to one another and it only made them better, stronger and united them in a long lasting love.

Quotes:

The only reason to kick a man like him out of bed would be to fuck him on the floor.

Never look down on a man unless he’s between your legs.

Never disturb a man when he’s eating at the Y.

In closing this was a fantastic finale full of angst, hope, healing, tears, laughter, friendship, family, and most of all LOVE. Colton and Rylee deserve their HEA and a love of all time. This series will go down in history as a romance hall of famer.

This is the second book in the Driven Series and in this one we read more about the dark, heavy baggage Colton Donavan carries with him about his secretive tortured past. We see the lines of communication between Colton and Rylee open up in small increments even as their love and lust grows by leaps and bounds.

“She pushes me, unmans me, consumes me, scares the ever-loving shit out of me.“

You clearly see the push and pull feelings Colton continues to carry for Rylee as he struggles to fight against his dark memories and hold on to the one thing that keeps him sane and hopeful of a future with her. To him the definition of the word Love means something totally different to him and the way he was raised to believe.

5 hearts – couples falling hard

Rylee is still the wonderful, selfless, giving, strong and tenacious beautiful woman she was in Driven. You have to admire the way she never gives up in her fight for Colton’s love and the future she sees with him. The way she gives herself whole heartedly to those in need and to those she believes in and loves, this is what makes me want to be a better person.

“Fight Colton! For you. For us. For me. You don’t get to pull away from me. You don’t get to walk away without a second thought. I matter, Colton. I deserve the same more than you do. What we have is not inconsequential.“

5 hot-o-licious steamy sex scene lips.

And OMG! Let me just say the Lust Scenes in this sexy sizzling romance were of the charts panty melting, drool dripping, heart thumping, lip smacking, scorching hot. Honestly, I licked my lips so raw I had to find my extra stash of carmex just to get through them. Colton is so very charming and dirty. Ha!

5 tear-em-up tears.

The most favorite and memorable parts in this story were the little boys living in the group home Rylee create for them. You get a glimpse into their lives and pasts and really start feeling the heartache a pain each one of them lived through. You see how Colton relates to them and soothes their suffering with words of encouragement and shows them how to handle vivid memories and horrid dreams by sharing his own way of handling these atrocious acts.

Spiderman, Bateman, Superman, Ironman.

In the end you get an overall understanding to what drives us all to succeed in our lives. The continued fight for what is right, to stand up for others and yourself, to believe in Love, to strive to be a better person, to open up communication lines, and the tenacity to achieve your goals.

Thank you K. Bromberg, by far my most favorite of the series!

This story is a build-up to a great romance, it starts out slow to create and enhance the sexual angst and tension filled anti climatic love of all time. There is a lot of back and forth, coming and going, leaving and staying which I find is needed in a modern day romance story, after all this is how you get to know, grow, and learn to love someone.

4 hearts – romantic couples

Rylee Thomas is a strong woman trying to overcome a tragedy where she lost her fiancée and the little bun in her oven. Sheis determined to help and save others less fortunate and starts to build a thriving business which is a home for boys with tragic pasts. Rylee creates a charity auction, an event to help raise funds for this home for neglected boys and meets the dynamic famous race car driver that totally spins her world off its axis. She meets this delicious hunk-o-lot in a closet after seeing him in all his man-whoring glory enjoying a steamy kiss with someone she knows from the office and she has a nickname for men like Colton… ACE, which stands for arrogant, conceited, and egomaniac.

Colton Donavan is a famous race car driver without fear, totally self centered, a spoiled bad boy with a damaged soul. His sordid past and dark secrets haunt his every thought and even his dreams which makes him a sex only, no strings attached kind of guy. This seems to work for him until he meets the sweet do-gooder Rylee and helps fund her Corporate Cares foundation of helping kids. Colton does not know how to express in words the way he feels or especially how Rylee makes him feel, he has trouble communicating with her and the secrets of his past close him off to her. The word Love does not exist in his vocabulary.

4 boom shak-a-la-ka hot – steaming love scene lips.

Together these two try to help each other carry their heavy baggage of secrets and tragedy and build a foundation of love, family, joy, and happiness. You will want to slap, kick, kiss and cuddle Colton. And you will want to cheer Rylee on in her chase to win the hand of the man that wants no part of a healthy, committed relationship. If you’re looking for a sweet HEA in this read, you will not find it in the first book in this series, read on, let’s find out if they do in the next installment, which is where I’m headed next…

I lean up to kiss him and as I do he pushes me back into the elevator wall and kisses me passionately taking me by surprise. He leans his whole body against mine as he reaches out and slams his hand on the emergency stop button. The elevator grinds to a halt, jolting us.
I smirk at him “you did not just do that?” I ask as he moves his hand to the top of my pants.
“I think I just did,” he says as he swiftly pulls my pants down to my ankles. I giggle and step one leg out of my pants and panties.
“Are we seriously going to do this?” I ask as Aiden grins mischievously.
“Abso-fuckin’-lutely, it’s been a fantasy to do this in here with you for as long as I can remember,” he says then crushes his lips to mine.

“You look terrible,” I say making him chuckle.
“Well you look beautiful.”
I shake my head. “Aiden I don’t know what to say.”
“Say you love me.”
I close my eyes, I know he’s right, I do love him, and there’s never been any doubt about that.

He looks at me with his beautiful blue sparkling eyes full of lust while he enters me. Moving deeply into me, he exhales when our pelvis’ touch. My hands find their way to his shoulder blades when he puts his full weight on me, moving his hips in a circular motion and thrusting hard and fast. He continues his rhythm making me moan loudly as he thrusts, rotates and thrusts again. Our breathing becomes erratic when he quickens his pace.
“I. Love. You.” he says through staggered breaths after each thrust. All I can do is moan in response.

Jenifer has some serious trust issues. From the moment he ran into her (literally with his car) Aiden has known there was something special about her. In between their budding relationship his family (well his father), an ex he can’t get away from, and corporate embezzlement could tear them apart unless Jenifer can Trust him.

I’m totally in love with Adian where can I find one of him? (Shhh don’t tell my husband I said that) 😉 Great story with an interesting plot line. Loved Sarah and Chrìs’s banter it helped lighten up the story so further down the line it didn’t seem so dark. This author knows how to write about hot romantic scenes, although I didn’t feel it to be erotic, I could clearly imagine the connection and intense desire they both felt when they touched, kissed and made love.

All in all I’m very happy to have read the romance, intrigue and suspense of this little tale. This is Book One of the Series and it ends in a Cliffhanger which I do not mind for I look forward in continuing on. I will not spoil it for others and give details other than this:

I was not expecting a very different approach to a BDSM erotic romance. Lucian Bane surprised me with a brand new take on the same old tired theme of erotic Dom/sub relationships that’s trending around these days. The characters were real, charming, sweet, witty, and surprisingly funny.

Tara Reese, a small town girl with a social paranoia and a penchant for handsome, blue eyed, black haired men, is standing in line for an audition for a reality TV show with a grand prize of a million bucks. Tara clearly has no clue about the BDSM lifestyle, she picks up a copy of a Dom/sub relationship manual to read and decides to wing it.

“I don’t want to be dominated sexually. I don’t want to be dominated in any way. I want to dominate. It’s what I do, who I am. And I want to win this competition. That’s why I’m here. This isn’t a rush or a high for me. I’m not a Domaholic…”

Lucian Bane is in the same line, same competition, he loves a challenge, and the exclusive bragging rights and fame of becoming the Ultimate Dom and the face of Gladiator, Inc., is just the perk he needs. When he sees Tara he can hardly believe his eyes at this clueless woman. He decides to help her out, or himself out, and either talk her out of the competition or make sure she loses.

They are paired up in the audition period and shown to a room they will be sharing, literally, it goes viral, cameras in every room, capturing every moment. And so they begin, they start playing the game, to win, immediately. Tara decides to start off playing the fluff scenes to the hilt. Lucian becomes irritated and loses patience with her because of the lack of intimacy. Tara is naïve, shy and very inexperienced, she doesn’t want to get close enough to feel any emotion for him.

“…why can’t you do the pleasure list, Tara. It’s fucking pleasure, you won’t die.”

“It’s not just pleasure… I can’t just do those things with just anybody.”

The chemistry between these two nearly blew the battery completely out of my kindle. This author knows how to write about erotic romance. The scenes were hot, emotional, and spine tingling. They satiated my every sense. Lucian and Tara explored each other like they were an unknown planet. They played, they discovered, they conquered, they… fell in LOVE.

“What they saw was a hero baby. That’s what you are. A survivor. A strong woman. Beautiful… Funny as hell… Sexy… Sweet…”

One word: Satisfying. So… how many points did they earn? Did they win? Did they lose? In the end, I truly hope Lucian teaches Tara the fundamental element found in a Top Dom. Control oneself. Respect oneself. Dominate oneself. Live, Grow, Respect, Trust, Communicate and fall in Love.

My forehead leans against hers as I gaze into her deep blue eyes that are full of longing. I want her to believe me, to trust in me, to feel that I need her. I didn’t want her to get hurt because of me, but I can’t stay away any longer. I need her more than anything. She is my drug and I’m giving in to my addiction.

I lick and bite my lip in anticipation, waiting for her to let me in. I can’t stop wanting her, but if she really doesn’t want me the same way I do then I’ll have no choice but to stop. “Tell me what you want. What you really need. Do you want me to let you go? Do you want me to stop hunting for you?” I whisper.

I’m pleading in my head for her to say ‘no.’ I look her in the eye, telling her without words that this is what I desire the most. She takes in a deep breath and opens her mouth.

4.0 Rosebuds of Writing Raves

This novel was a New Age Genre read. The story-line was true to the genre. Each chapter is titled. The novel takes place over only a few weeks time, and the time-frame follows the characters and there day to day activities exactly. While reading the reader has no problem knowing who is talking when. Each characters voice is clear and concise.

The setting of the novel is the beginnings of college. It is the first day. Autumn who tends to call herself, ‘chicken-shit’ has a run in with a leaf blower. Hunter just happens to catch the show. Afterwards he finds an item lying in the grass he is sure is hers. Know, just how to return it to her…

The biggest reason that I liked and recommend this read is because it is not like every other read on the market. Hunter is not a billionaire or a rock star. He grew up just scraping by. Autumn is lucky enough that her parents were able to pay for her college tuition. Yet, like most students she has to work in order to have enough money for food, clothes, etc.

Another reason I liked and recommend Fierce is that Autumn is the character that she is. Bookish. While reading Fierce, I was sent back into my own memories of high school and college. I was the girl guys ignored, studied hard, and my nights and weekends were more reading than partying. Fierce shows that their is someone for everyone.

The only thing that I did not like about this novel was that Autumn likes to say GD, quite a lot. But that is just my taste.

Both the Hero and Heroine find themselves moving out of their comfort zones throughout this novel. College becomes a time of big change. A time when the real world becomes a reality. A time when they learn who their real friends are. Autumn follows the rules, Hunter breaks the rules. Hunter is a loner, Autumn likes having a BFF. Hunter has a temper, Autumn is shy and reserved. Autumn learns quickly, while Hunter learns at a slower rate. Autumn does not like to draw attention. Hunter is used to attracting the looks of the ladies.

Opposites attract, but will decisions they each make break them up or keep them together…

2.5 Teardrops

Emotional Reader here. On the outside Hunter is such a tough looking guy. Which on the outside he really is, and strong too. Yet, in his actions with Autumn he is a very caring and has a very loving and gentle soul. Autumn sees pain in Hunter’s eyes. However, she does not know the reason and Hunter is not that open at first with her about the decisions he has made recently. Making the reader very curious about the whole situation. Which is what drew me into the story. I just wanted to keep reading to discover the reason for his behavior. And no matter what, Autumn never gave up on Hunter.

4.0 Romancing Raves

Autumn and Hunter both react to one another. Hunter throws out innuendos and flirts enjoying the reaction Autumn gives him. She tries not to notice Hunter, but her eyes just can not stop glancing at him. While her mind has all these intimate thoughts of what she would like to do with him. I love her reaction to what others call her. As they see her in regards to Hunters life. Hunter is sensitive to Autumn’s needs. He wants to protect her in all ways and in all things. Hunter does not see Autumn as the geeky girl she is. But as someone he wants to know, not change, but give her new experiences. Though some of the experiences Autumn gets herself into, Hunter would rather her not get involved in…
