Synopsis

 Excerpt #1 –

Here we go again. He is on a rampage about how I look. I have yet to figure out the reason why he stays with me if I disgust him so much. I look in the mirror and see the same person I have always been: sandy blonde hair, blue eyes, high cheekbones, and just a few more curves than fifteen years ago. His cold, hard words are like daggers jabbed into my side. Not enough to kill, but just enough to leave massive scars.

As I make my way to my car for my first day on a new job, he follows behind me and yells, “I don’t know why you even bother putting makeup on. You look like a piece of lard no matter what you do.”

Holding back the tears, I get into the car and turn on some “Gunpowder and Lead” by Miranda Lambert before driving to Flagler Memorial Hospital for my first day as the Director’s assistant.

Happily ever after! What is that supposed to feel like? The thoughts pour through my head, questioning myself over and over. After being married to him for fourteen years you would think that all the hard times would be behind us and we would only feel love toward one another. Instead, I feel hate and sadness. Hate for this man who hurts me every day, breaking a piece of my soul little by little. Sadness for the person I used to be before I married him and lost my true self. How many more days will I be able to put up with the pain and stay? Will I ever get the strength to leave and find me again?

I have very energetic butterflies in my stomach, along with feeling less than perfect after Michael’s harsh words before I left this morning. I shake it off and plaster on a fake smile as I walk into the human resource office. The lady behind the desk has long platinum blonde hair and she is wearing a dark navy blue skirt and matching

jacket with a white collared shirt opened about three buttons down. She looks like she should be on the cover of Vogue or maybe even Playboy. I am feeling less than acceptable in my black knee-length pencil skirt, white ruffled blouse, and red heels with my thick curves, none of which are a match for her slim body. I’m pretty sure hers are fake anyway; smiling to myself, I start feel a little better. I introduce myself as Laney Collins and let her know I am here to work as the assistant to Dr. Chance Turner.

Excerpt #2 –

Things at home are getting bad again and I get this fear in my gut every time I go home. Today was no different; I was in the kitchen cooking when Michael walks in from work, slamming the door behind him. I can see the anger in his eyes so I take in a deep breath to prepare myself for whatever jackass moment he is going to unleash. He looks at me with disgust. “You need to do something, Laney. You have really let yourself go. When is the last time you went to the gym?” I whisper to myself…yesterday.

Excerpt #3 –

The way his eyes burn into me, it would be hard for anyone to miss the connection. His wicked grin and his hand placed on my lower back leading me to the dance floor has me feeling relaxed even with a hundred eyes on us. I just don’t really care that they are gossiping about the boss and his assistant. Besides, it will give them something to talk about in the cafeteria Monday.

I smile smugly. “So, Dr. Turner, are you worried about what everyone is thinking right now?”

He laughs. “No, I’ll go dance with Sierra later and really get their minds going.”

I shake my head. “That might make you a male whore, Dr. Turner. Getting a bad reputation and so soon after your separation. Shame. Shame.”

“Did you just call me a whore, Mrs. Collins?”

“Yes, I did.”

“If we weren’t in a room full of hospital employees I would bend you over my knee.”

“That sounds really fucking hot, Dr. Turner,” I say.

“Damn, my cock just got hard. Are you trying to turn me on?” he teases.

“You better believe it. I’m so fucking horny right now I don’t know how much more of being this close I can take,” I admit.

“I need to make some rounds and make the proposal speech. Once that is done you can leave. I will be behind you shortly after. Meet me at my car,” he playfully orders.

“Will you spank me if I don’t?” I joke.

“I’ll spank you if you do.” Grinning, he lets me go.

Excerpt #4 –

I turn the music on and pull the mic to my mouth and in the lowest sexy voice I can manage, I say, “I’m a slave for you.” My inner Britney comes out and I start swaying my hips from side to side slowly. I roll my head back and grab my hair with my hands. I am singing the song as I do my best attempt at dancing like Britney Spears and I probably look like the biggest dummy up here on this stage, but I know in my heart that the man sitting center stage is getting turned on.

I can see the glimmer in his eyes and the devilish grin stretching across his face. I get more into the moves and think less about how I look. Leaning into the microphone I sing “Baby, don’t you wanna, dance up on me.” I slide my hand down

my breasts to my stomach and before I can get to the “Get it, get it” part of the song, he jumps on stage and pulls me into him. I can feel his hard cock on my leg and I press harder and rock my hips to feel the friction between my legs. He eases me onto the stage floor and slips my shirt over my head, trailing his fingertips slowly from my neck to my breast. He undoes the front snap of my bra and licks my nipples one by one. I let out a moan and I raise my hips up wanting more. I want him in me. The erotic feeling I am getting from being on this stage is almost turning me into a porn star for my man. Not one person is watching us, but just thinking that they could be is enough. I step up my usual moves and I roll him over so I am straddling him, my hair hanging down and lightly brushing over his chest.

“You look mighty hot like that, Dr. Turner. I do believe I would like to have my way with you,” I tease.
