During the writing of this novel the author had her own personal crisis. Her sister was diagnosed with cancer.

One truly never knows what is going to happen next in their lives. Families share the burden of bad news with their loved ones. It affects each and every person in a different way. Each will have their own story to tell during and after the situation. In the beginning of the novel, the author states that she wanted to create a parallel ending to the story. So that the fictional Kinsey and the authors real life sister would have the same ending in the end. But then she got to thinking, and realized that they could not share the same story or ending. Though the seriousness of each was real, they were two very different women. Kinsey may be fictional, but her story is still important. So important that her story deserved a life of its own, just like the authors sister. Who by the way is still in the process of creating her own story. Life is not always pretty. Yet, no matter who you are, what you do, young or old., you have our own life story to tell. Here is Kinsey’s story. Read, enjoy, feel the emotions flowing across the pages. However, don’t forget that you touch lives too, and your story is still in the making.
